450Beater Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 Ive been thinking about porting my Banshee, and if i do is there any other mods i will have to make? Will i have to re-do my jetting? I ride mostly dunes, so would the HJR dune port be the best for me? I do a little of dragging, trail riding, and a little playing around. Oh one more question does the +4 timing make a big difference? Would i have to run race gas? I have alot of questions i know but im 15 and all the money i make goes into my banshee, so i want it to be the best i can make it. Quote

donkeypuncher Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 can't go wrong with herr juggs. kevin (herr) is one of the best builders out there and his customer service is second to none. the riding i do is pretty much the same type of riding as you and i couldnt be happier with my hjr duneport. definately hauls the mail. Do you have to run race gas or can you run pump gas? Quote
johnny boy Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 I have a aggresive dune port,19 domes,+4 timing and I have to run 110 oct.My compression on both cylinders are at 154 psi. When I first got it done I had a set of 21 domes and ran pump gas (91) with no problems.I dont remenber what the psi was with the 21"s though. If that helps. But she does run hard. You will not be dissapointed if you go with Kevin. DallasGDub Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 Race gas is determined by other factors. I have the HJR dune port and run 93oct with 20cc domes Just above sea. Quote

johnny boy Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 Might be overkill, but when i had 20 domes on 91 octane she locked up quick.1st trip/1st night into Dumont dunes. Was the worst Thansksgiving week, watching everybody ride & I had to sit in camp all week.Called Kevin and sent the jugs back to him and he sent me 19 domes in return and recomended that after she was put together to run that.Been 8 months now.3 trips to Dumont and 3 trips to Pismo and she still runs..just my .02...Either way you wont be dissapointed if you go to HJR.. sled Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 race gas depends on your comp. The timing plate is a good idea, I'll give you more bottom end power. your bike will be a lot faster, but you'll have to rejet. Kevin will give you jet specs that will get you in the ballpark if not right on. Make sure you sync the carbs. Quote
shee4speed Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 You'll definately be happy and smokin alot of bikes with a HJR port.Get it done and hold on. Quote
