Ieat4strokes Posted June 19, 2009 Report Posted June 19, 2009 Main question is where do want my adjustment? where theres no play in the adjuster and pressure plate? or just barely enough slack where it spins free? heres how i set the adjuster and pancake in the hub, minus the washer that goes on top of the bearing Heres when I got done, QUESTION is wtf is the nut for that goes on the allen screw adjuster? To me it looks like it serves no purpose Clutch engaged, never payed attention but is pressure plate supposed to rise off the clutch pack? Quote
2twin350s Posted June 19, 2009 Report Posted June 19, 2009 The nut is there to lock the adjustment shaft down after you adjust the clutch arm. You have it all right...but you are missing a thrust washer for the pancake bearing. There should be 1 washer on each side of the bearing. Then just assemble the pressure plate and adjust your clutch arm like the normal set-up from the factory. You will love that set-up makes a huge difference. Quote
No Limit Powersports Posted June 19, 2009 Report Posted June 19, 2009 Look on top of the cases there by the clutch actuator arm there should be an arrow cast into the cases. You will need to pull the the slack out of the cable with the handle and line up the arrow on the clutch arm with the arrow on the cases, adjust the screw in the disengager (pancake bearing) to get it in proper alignment. Then lock it down with that nut so it wont move. Quote

Then lock it down with that nut so it wont move. andy, this will probably work on most bikes, but on some it wont. i know that my clutch arm does not line up perfectly with the arrow. ive also heard of others having the same issue. i think every bike is probably a little different in terms of clutch adjustment. everyones really should probably be set individually.
