quadgod211 Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 guys im desperate for the size of these scooter tires that would come out the same as the 18x4x10 fronts like wicked sells.... i found some 130x40x10's but i dont really know if thats the size i want... can anyone help me out please????????????? matt Quote
popa_top2000 Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 I came accross this website the other day when I was looking at different scooter tires http://www.cbxmanmotorcycles.com/Replaceme...oped-Tires.aspx You can use it to look at the different tire sizes and it gives you a chart with the overall diameter and width of the tire. I don't see any 130/40x10's but it might give you a better idea and according to this that tire will be smaller than an 18. A 130/70x10 is 16.9 in diameter. Quote
Hilarious Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 i use 3.50-10 scooter tires. they seem to work well. they are tad smaller than 18" dia though.... Quote
sleeper06 Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 I run michelin Reggea 190/40/10 if I remember correctly Quote
dragbanshee98 Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 the ones wicked sells now are kenda tires... it may be easier to just buy those Quote
kawiking Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 i use 3.50-10 scooter tires. they seem to work well. they are tad smaller than 18" dia though.... what are ur 1/8 mile times, dave ? Quote
RadarRacing Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 I hav some 3.5X10s that are just under 17" and some 130x90x10 that are 19". I don't know if a 130x40 exists Quote
quadgod211 Posted June 12, 2009 Author Report Posted June 12, 2009 yea the smaller in height the better for me......my frame is built rather tall and with 18inch tall fronts it still sets nearly 5 1/2 inches off the ground. i like for my pitch to be lower in the front instead of level....i cant change my frame hieght brcuase my 1 piece frame and swingarm...im running pro wedge 1's on the back and aired up there nearly 24inches and the fronts are 21 inch mohawks...now that im running 20's on the back i want 18's or 17's for the asphalt.. the catch is i currently have 10x5 front rims and i dont care to have a lil rim sticking out on each side i just dont want the tire all stretched outta shape to fit it.. i was told that 4-5 inch scooter tires are significantly heavier and pricier ....if i can get a set for around 75-100 bux that would rolly be alright.... i would prolly run 18 smoothies but there way to pricey..... matt Quote
RadarRacing Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 You can get scooter tires for $25 to $35 at most tires dealers and even my dealer has em for $29.99 each and they are pirellis. I got mine from John at Sandtoyz Unlimited for $30 each and they are kind of a dirt tread Duro instead of a street tire. Quote
quadgod211 Posted June 20, 2009 Author Report Posted June 20, 2009 got some smooth buffs 18x4's for $50 brand new...the guy needed some cash.. i guess i can run smooth buffs on hardtop???? thanx for all your guys help and input matt Quote
Stellar Performance Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 I would be careful running a buffed tire on the asphault. They are quite thin and the last thing you wanna do is have a blow out going 80+ on the pavement Quote
quadgod211 Posted June 28, 2009 Author Report Posted June 28, 2009 yea i know because of the good deal i had to take them.... ill be doing prolly 60/40% dirt/asphalt same distance away from both tracks but this season the dirt is staying rained out and the hardtop is running every weekend almost....so when i cant run one ill run the other if i can...lol thanks for the concern though azcustomquads,, i ran 22inch smoothies on the streets a couple years ago with tubes in them just in case.... matt Quote
