springer Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 is this normal. i figured i might lose a little bottom end, but it has no power until i get like half throttle then she runs great. i thought if anything, the pods would make me run lean, but it feels like i am way rich. anyone else experience this and have any advice? thanks Quote
quikshee Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Pods really suck in the air compared to an air box, they will make you run lean if you don't rejet. Your jetting is off, when I put my pods on it made a deep sucking noise until I started getting closer on the jetting. Quote
shee4speed Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 what was your old setup? Did you even try to rejet? Quote
springer Posted May 22, 2009 Author Report Posted May 22, 2009 i havent rejetted yet. i already had a kn filter with the air box completely removed (except a little piece to hold up the coolant tank) so i thought i might be ok. obviously i was wrong. ya, mine is making a huge sucking sound as well. i just bought the bike about 2 months ago but shee has seemed to be jetted pretty good. no noticable problems. how many sizes should i bump the mains? anything else i should do?? i was thinking about moving the needle clip position, but i am totally new to jetting so i dont know for sure. any help would make a huge difference. thanks Quote
shee4speed Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 the mains are for topend. You prob.need to adjust your needle a clip and your air screw a tad. Quote
springer Posted May 22, 2009 Author Report Posted May 22, 2009 cool, thanks guys. i was gonna start there but just needed some reassurance in my blind knowledge. hope i can get it going good, im bout to head to little sahara. thanks for the help Quote
RagunCajun Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 The main controls 3/4-WOT i believe. He said no power until 1/2 throttle. air screw and pilot is idle to 1/4. 1/4-3/4 is needle and needle clip position. Quote
vulvafan537240 Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 dont leave it running lean or youll smoke it Quote
