deckheight
If I remember correctly re-chembered it also. Pretty sure you would not be happy with taking off .030" without doing something with the squish band. Probably should get a hold of Mopar for the details before going any further. dusty_v141
ok what does the squish band do
BellicoseBanshee
The squish band does two things: It squishes the fuel/air mixture away from the edge of the cylinder towards the spark plug. It also helps mix the fuel and air more thoroughly, and it helps mix the residual exhaust gas with the fresh charge.
kswayze
Not really trying to hijack the thread but who are some of the builders that do a good job at head work? I cannot find any locally (Oregon).
deckheight
LOL! Shoot me a private w/e-mail and what you want to do as far as octane requirements. A properly re-designed OEM head is no problem for 92 octane compression. 100 octane compression is also no problem, but requires tig welding. 110 octane type compresssons are not possible with an OEM head. The above assumes head geometry is designed for a 54mm stroke and an acceptable MSV for the octane fuel. Not really trying to hijack the thread but who are some of the builders that do a good job at head work? I cannot find any locally (Oregon). blowit
Here is one of our heads. We have been doing head mods for 10 yrs. Will admit that we are running behind this time of year though. blowit
That is some nice work Brandon. Thank you. I drew the line years ago when I took a head to machine shop to have it "shaved" and it looked like lunch meat that was cut with a claw hammer. We have us some new hotness that should be coming out in the next month. Stay tuned.... B
mopar1rules
brandon, you use mastercam to create the program for you to cut those little grooves? you use a little 1/16" ball endmill? looks like excellent machining.
