Jamiie Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 Hello everyone, I'm new to this site and seems like a great community just from browsing through the forums. I been recently thinking about finally buying me a banshee. I've always had 4x4 4-wheelers, I do have a 1990 Suzuki LT250R 2-stroke(but its ragged out). Anyways.. I been looking at a 2006 Banshee SE at my local Yamaha shop, they want $6,800.00 for it out the door(still in the crate). Any mod idea's for it for the time being? Or just leave it alone being it is an SE? Quote

Get on Craig's list and search "banshee", or go to the for sale section here. If nothing else, buy one for $2k and sink another 3 or 4 into it. You'll be a lot happier than with a stocker with no mods at all. Quote
gobbles423 Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 Yeah man you could buy one wicked ass monster for $7000 I would buy another one and mod it or buy one thats already been moded Quote
official_style Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 Yea I bought an 06 a year ago, bone stock, they are like not rideable stock. I was riding my 97 all the time, since its setup the way I like, and the 06 just sat. Now that the 06 is hooked up I like it. That price is way too high. Get something used, you will not be happy with it stock. Quote
R. Rollins Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 Same here; I bought a SE 2006 Banshee brand new from the crate and yes its not as fast as my 95 purple assed Barney Banshee but it was brand spankin asses new and I was the first one to fart on the seat....lol Hell; I will have to now mod the hell out of it to get the gains the others speak of and spend a few more grand in doing so. My deal was that I had promised myself way back in 1988 when I first rode a Banshee that I would have a new one some day. I spent alot of cash in doing so but I had to wait my entire adult life to finally get one, and dont look back at if it was the right thing to do or not. My next adventure would be to get a Banshee that allready had the cub motor fresh in the chassis, and all new go fast parts and no friggin glam billit shit just to make it look good. Id have only performance stuff on the next one that Ill do. The others are right, get a great used one with all the mods for a huge savings. Quote
locogato11283 Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 buy a used one for next to nothing and then build it how you want it.. welcome to HQ  Quote
MikeNick Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 DAMNNN!!! Don't pay that much for it...That stealership is crazy....Buy a used one in good shape.. Quote
Jamiie Posted May 15, 2009 Author Report Posted May 15, 2009 Thanks everyone for the feedback, I found a 2004 banshee SE on craigslist.org that has a lot of mods done to it. Some of listed mods: Toures eliminator kit Tommey T5 exhaust After Market SS Chrome and Black Rims with hole shot tires Elka suspension + 2 A-Arms Boost Bottle K&N Filter Bored to a 400. The guy is asking $4,500, he said he'll take $4,000 for it. I'll see if I can take $3,500 cash tomorrow and go get it. Not a bad deal? Even if I pay $4,000 for it. Quote
official_style Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 bored to a 400 ? the engine has been bored that many times? and is the black one slammed or is the blue one jacked up i cant tell? the black one looks like all the tires are too small or something. Quote

That's what the guy has told me, idk much about banshee's. I reckon 400cc being 350cc is stock right? Yes it's been dropped. Quote
official_style Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 if you can even bore to 400, that is it then, you cant bore those at all, just remember that for down the line. where are you located, that price still seems high. Quote

DallasGDub Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 If I had to guess, the guy selling it thinks it is a 400cc maybe b/c it is bored .50 over? Ask him what he means by 400. It is a very common mistake. (bore alone doe snot = CC) Use that as a point to talk him down. How does it run, is it well taken care of, ext.... The Elkas, rims/tires, and A-arms will run you about 1k used. You can add those to any bike and make it look nice. Quote
Isaac_62 Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 Still way too expensive.. look for one for about 1500 and dump the rest of that money u got into making it the bike U want... Just my .02 Quote
06specialedition Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 I just picked up my 06 SE only 3 hours on it for, $4000. Love it! good investment Quote
