shanYE west Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 If you don't like wiseco's why would you build a motor that can only use wiseco's? Because having more HP is more important then my piston preference. I'm using a 78mm bore. Quote
Woolfman Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 Because alot of people beleive that their claim to extra HP with the pistons is bogus. Wich.. It could be. My cousin said he could feel a difference.. but.. it could have been in his head too. I'd like to see dyno's to prove that they actually do what they say they do. I bet they do feel a difference they are replacing a worn piston and rings and bringing compression back up. Quote

bennieben Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 i ordered some clutches from vitos. they told me that they make them. ive put them in my raptor 660, yfz450, and banshee. they are holding up incredibly well. do you guys know who makes the clutches for vitos? Quote
RagunCajun Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 I never got the feeling vito's isnt like. But i do feel Vito's isnt popular. Anyways, i do enjoy dealing with Vito's. I recently bought their slingshot style lockup for my banshee. Works like a dream! I also had to call them for some help/questions. Very nice guys there. Quote
Woolfman Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 I'm not antivito's I have a vito's crank it's holding up just fine don't know who makes it either maybe they do and don't know on clutches. Quote
Rodneya Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 Just cause wiseco makes it doesn't mean it's as good as a wiseco. WTF does that mean. Quote
Woolfman Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 WTF does that mean. Really your going to ask that? Just cause wiseco is making someone elses design doesn't mean it as good as wiseco's own piston. If you still don't get it I can hold your hand and take you through it a little slower. Quote

Woolfman Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 Please.. walk me through.. Tell me how wiseco's own piston is better then the ones they make for Vito's. I never said it is better I said I recommend wiseco and said piston shouldn't make noticeable power difference. They are totally different pistons. I had a bad experience with vito pistons skirt shatering early within one season don't know why it did. Then a wiseco in same engine has lasted twice as long. So I share my experience and recommend wiseco to vito alot of others would do the same. Then someone says wiseco makes vitos pistons. Then I say they look different to me and they are they use vito's design turns out. So I say just because one piston is made by the same company does not make them equal. Sorry forgot to hold your hand. Let me know if you would like me to break it down even more than that. Quote

I guess if you have it bored to .020 then buy the .020 piston.. It should be fine... Quote

Oh my hell no that does not say wiseco is better is says just because the are made by same company does not mean that they are as good as the other. So on the fact the same company makes both only that does not make vito the same as wiseco. Here you go in reverse order just cause wiseco is made by wiseco doesn't mean wiseco is as good as vito's made by wiseco. Happy? Don't think that is why my skirt broke cause I just went up on size and had to bore it to fit. Went up a size due to scratches from broken piston. It was stock bore at the time replaced stock pistons honed cylinders replaced with vito's and then bought new pistons wiseco's and sent them with the juggs to the machinist for proper fit. I underlined the problem.. You replaced stock casted pistons with a forged piston and didn't change the bore. The new pistons lasted longer because the bore was set to the piston. Casted and forged pistons need different bore specs. Quote
AWR Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) i've ran vito's,stock, wiseco, prox, and others and have had good luck with all of them i think a properly cleaned and oiled air filter and good jetting are the key to good piston life.and the right sized bore... Woolfman Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 My bad didn't know I had to do that thought stock size was stock size. Well at least I got it right the second time. I don't know as much as half the people on here and that is why I am on here. I try to help people when I can but I have only been working on four wheelers for a couple of years 5 at the most and only my own and my dads. So through my own experiences I try to help where I can. Isn't that what this site is all about? Quote
