59bisquik
This weekend the air filter came loose while out riding and sucked up a bunch of sand. Now one cylinder is running really lean and its low on power. Im not sure what size bore it has since the previous owner mentioned its been rebuilt before. I am going to pull the cylinder and have it bored and add new pistons. I am on a budget, but what would be some good and relatively inexpensive mods while I have it apart? Its used on the dunes only and has only a few mods. Toomey 2 into 1 air filter, T5's, TORS removed and a welded crank. Not sure how much work the cylinders are going to need, but what else would be a good bang for the buck upgrade? Thanks guys!

flotek
definitly portwork if funds allow ,theres an abundance of power potential by the right portwork
59bisquik
I was thinking about a cool head and some domes. Is a port job a better deal?

bansheejoel
porting is where the power is if you have the money. For a dune port look at around $300-400. I would also buy a timing plate and set it to +4. Maybe some 28-30mm carbs would also benifit you. Good luck with your build.
shee4speed
seeing how you already have pipes, prob.get the portwork and stock head milled. Then when the fundage gets there, pickup a noss head.
Burt Reynolds
If you sucked in a bunch of sand i wouldnt run it again until you checked out the bottom end. You could even have sand stuck in the bottom end, then you put your new top end on and boom,
doorslammer
depending on how long it ran like that you might ned to rebuild the crank.... if you do then 4 mill long rods would also be a nice addition Edited April 20, 2009 by doorslammer
