I would just replace it with a stock impeller.

Some people have had quite a bit of trouble with billet impellers.

The problem is that the billet impeller is aluminum and the cover

is also aluminum. That combination of aluminum rubbing directly

on aluminum is not great.

i have blew my topend twice and had to have it rebuilt because of overheating and both ive had put in were stock impellers. who knows if the guy did it right. after the past month or so of me working on it there is a lot he said he did but didnt do when he rebuilt it. it looks like the one this guy put in last time is fiberglass i think.

I used the pro design impeller. No problems. I also put the pro design pump cover with a drain plug in it. Easier than pulling a hose off.

I have prodesign impellars in 2 bikes, no problems yet. Only about a year old on 1 and 1.5 years on the other though. I think as long as you dont get 1 of the modquad units iwth the aluminum shafts you are fine. And yeah, if you can stomach the price, the prodesign cover is nice come maintenance time.
