  1. So I've got a 03 predator 90 that won't start. It ran fine then the next time I went to start it it wouldn't start and started leading gas out of the carb. I thought needle and seat was bad so I replaced that and cleaned the carb. I put everything back together and it still won't start. Turns over fine. New spark plug, carb rebuilt, good compression. Then it started leaking gas again so I cleaned the carb once again thinking I missed something. Tried starting it and still nothing. Any suggestions. I'm not new to this but I think I am over looking something Thanks
  2. Ok so I tore apart the clutch cover and looked at the shift shaft. Is there nothing keeping it from moving all the way out to the clutch basket. The claw the fits over the star keeps moving all the way off and not even hitting the star. It also looks like there is a lot of movement with the claw. The spring isn't tight at all and doesn't keep it centered. I figure a new shift shaft assy for sure but why is that shaft moving so much?
  3. I just built this motor not 4 months ago and checked everything top to bottom I hope it's something small.
  4. It has kicked itself out of gear a couple times a couple weeks ago.
  5. So somehow the shee will go into 1st and 2nd. But it will not go into any other gear. Tell me it's not my tranny
  6. So after removing the tores my throttle seems like it is real hard. After riding for 30 mins or so you have to take a break. Is there any other thumb throttles out there that are longer or do i have something wrong with my setup. Im thinking of getting like a modquad polished one but if its not longer then it wont do any good i dont think.
  7. How do u set the gap on the pickup coil. It just bolts on to that adjustable timing plate. I know it's not hitting the flywheel.
  8. yea i dont know what kind i just pulled out of it, the last time i had a guy build a motor he put it in. i work for yamaha now and just grabbed the oem off the shielf. we will see what happens.
  9. so i had to put a new stator in my bike today. this is the 3rd stator in like 5 years ive put in it. is there any reason they could be going out that fast or is something like this normal?
  10. Alright I will try and drain the gas out ofthe chambers. I did have fuel coming out after I had it runnig and the floats do need to be set. It's over flowing just sitting there. Not bad like a stuck float or a needle valve. I'll put the 27.5 pilots in tomorrow morning too.
  11. IT HAS PLENTY OF FUEL AND AIR. THE SPARK SEEMED LIKE IT WAS WEAK EVEN BEFORE IT STARTED MONDAY, BUT THEN WHEN IT DID START MONDAY AND KEPT STARTING FINE I DIDNT THINK ANYMORE OF IT. ITS GOT A NEW STATOR IN IT. IVE CHANGED THE PLUGS. I DID HAVE GAS AND OIL COME OUT OF THE PIPES MONDAY BEFORE IT STARTED BUT HASNT DONT IT SINCE. LIKE IT LOADED UP FOR AWHILE

  13. SO I JUST REBUILD WHOLE MOTOR BOTTOM TO TOP, TOOK MY TORS OFF, PUT K&N PODS ON. STOCK STROKE, 66.5 BORE +4 TIMING, FEW OTHERS. IT WAS HARD TO START MONDAY NIGHT BUT IT DID START AND RAN GREAT, TONS OF POWER. NOW IT WILL NOT START AND MY FOOT AND LEG ARE TIRED OF KICKING. ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEAS ON WHAT IT COULD BE OR WHAT I NEED TO DO? THANKS
  14. I haven't ever spilt the cases before nor do I really know what to look for. I've taken this bike over to a guy in Joplin and he has no clue what he is doing and keeps the bike for 3 or 4 months. It was my mistake by taking it to him 3 times. I will prob put a new crank in it if I have to spilt the cases anyway. Anybody have suggestions on what crank and what pistons I should go with.
  15. 93 oct and i dont know the elebation here in sw missouri. i did a compression test awhile back and if i can remember right it was around 140. so now would be the time to put another crank in it and start all over you think?
  16. i tore the topend off my 2005 banshee the pistons had holes in them the size of my thumb, the sparkplugs were melted. also how do i get all of the debris out of the bottom end. There is chucks of my pistons everywhere in my motor. i have +4 timing 19cc domes coolhead. and its also jetted.

  21. alright so if my left side is backing off and the right side is not....does that mean i am having Detonation? also i dont want to put to high of octane in it if i dont need it because wont that blow a hole in a piston? and since it is at -4 right now do i still need to pull everything apart to adjust it to +4 or can i just loosen it and move it? plus is the oil mix the same when i do the 50/50 or staight 110? lots of questions now i feel like im blind and in the dark with no hands with this bike sometimes

  23. i bought the bike new and i just put in the 19cc domes a couple weeks ago with the cool head i put on it. running the higher octane fuel is fine with me if its going to go faster. so by changing the timing its going to give me more compression is what your saying? so really i need the 110 octane fuel if im going to put it at +4 and then im back ridin?
