Alright guys, looking for some tips here. :ermm:

I had gotten an 89 Shee a few months back that was not running. The guy gave the bike to me with an 03 I think wiring harness. The eng is an 89 so the connector from the stator was diff to plug into the harness and I spliced them together with my own connectors. The harness had that TORS sys on it but that's not hooked up b/c there is a twist throttle on the thing. The CDI is also from an 03.

It's all plugged in but guess what, there is no spark! When I use a test light (don't have a DVOM) I do have power on the red wire out of the stator into the CDI. There is also power running on the blk/white wire for the kill switch which comes out of the CDI. There is though no power on the orange wire that runs from the CDI to the coil. ?????

Little help here please. Is it b/c of the year diff between the wiring and the stator or something else bad?

Thanks to all & hurry cuz I wanna ride.

the stator is likely bad if you have a new coil and CDI etc... the ignition have a different set of coils on the stator.. id be looking for a stator for the newwe plug, and put the harness back into one piece

Any idea what wires those may be? As there are others like a white/red & white/grn. Then no what the red wire is for? I have the wiring diagrams which all the colors match but they dont say exactly what there all for?

is the red/black wire grounded @ the keyswitch? it turns into red and brown @ the switch.

red and green wires are the ignition coil windings

red/white and green/white are the pickup

you probably won't be able to read anything off the orange wire, unless you are using a led testlight

The key switch wires are wired together to eliminate the key, is that ok?

Should I be able to get power on the red/white & green/white using my test light?

The one red wire from the stator lights up my test light right at the stator & also right into the CDI.

if I remember reading somewhere, the key wires should be open.

Would those 2 wires be the red/blk & blk wires open?
