AKheathen Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 feels fucking it how see you now this read to trying time ass sweet your took you since  Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 Make sure everything is sealed up properly, do a leak down test to make sure all your gaskets and bearing seals are new and not leaking. Im sure you will be fine after rebuilding and replacing all seals and gaskets after the rebuild your doing. But make sure you check it out and leak test it and jet it proper. The ones you see that are fucked on the right is more than likely user error and not checking to make sure shit is right and proper before ripping hard on it IMO. Quote
AKheathen Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 i would suspect choke tube leakage, or something to do with the pto. Quote
yammyboy3 Posted March 26, 2009 Author Report Posted March 26, 2009 i dont know im just hoping its all good when i put it back together ak did you get them pipes ? and did they work for what you wanted them for ? Quote
deckheight Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 You are correct in that the right tube on a Banshee generally runs a little hotter, thus it is more prone to deto. FWIW I believe, but cannot prove... The right side of the crank being the load side, the right combustion chamber tends to run hotter due to torsional twist of the crankshaft. Basically, the right side is running advanced ignition timing over the left from the twist. I think... Stagger your jetting and/or head dome volumes to compensate or just dont run that close to the edge with your CR to start with. Quote
03bansheeLE Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 I had the same problem with mine. First with the stock pistons and bores, then with .060 over Vito's Super Stock pistons after only about 3 tanks of gas. I was only running 120psi on pump gas with no advanced timing and it still happened. Now im doing a full 4mm rebuild and a leakdown test after assembly. Still boggles me as to what went wrong.... AKheathen Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 i dont know im just hoping its all good when i put it back together ak did you get them pipes ? and did they work for what you wanted them for ? haha, just got home a little while ago, so i couldn't repair them yet. wth happened? looks like the left side of your bike got pretty hashed, enough to twist the pipe :woot: can't complain for 50 bucks i'll let you know how it turns out when i'm done  what kind of silencers did they have? i have the older fmf silencers, and toomy silencers. mxjim471 Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 I've been going round and round with my 98 with the same problem. Have good exhaust pressure coming out of the left side, no pressure on the right. Have another shee with no problems and have swapped reeds (since thats what was supposed to be wrong in the first place). Also just put new wiseco pistons in. Still the same thing, nothing on the right. Right exhaust pipe doesnt even get hot. Choke tube is on. Runs like it has an air leak somewhere. Idle revs high. Sprayed carb clean into the dead cylinder and that doesnt help. WTF! Thought it may be the right crank seal but its not smoking out of the right like it is burning it. Any ideas??? Quote
Mjv420 Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 ^ Make sure its firing on that side, it would probably be a bitch to start if it was not firing though. Check your compression, look at your reeds and intakes and make sure your carbs are synchd and not hanging. Quote

Check your compression, look at your reeds and intakes and make sure your carbs are synchd and not hanging. Its wierd. Not pulling fuel mixture into the right cylinder. I switched reeds, cleaned the carb switched plug wires.I finally broke down and split the cases today. Don't see anythingmuch bad. Some aluminum chunks in the right side I believe from the last rebuild before I got it. You can tell the right side bearings went bad before. Wear on the cases and marks in the head, but all looks good now. Going to get a new crank assembly now. Possibly a stroker. idk Quote
