steenasbanshee Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 i bought my banshee that way and honestly its a pain in the ass. to get it off 110 octane do i have to do a bottom and top end, just change out the pistons, or................???? thanks Quote
sheerider1026 Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 check your compression.. and your timing.. high compression and high timing are what cause the need for race gas.. drop the compression and timing and you can use pump gas.. does it have a cool head?? Quote
black sunshine Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 If you have a coolhead you have replaceable domes within....they should be stamped with a number, 18cc or 19cc, up to 22cc(stock compression). I run 20cc on pump gas @900ft, +4 timing no problems. You can buy new domes or give a holler on here when you find out size/condition of yours and someone may trade you. Quote
steenasbanshee Posted March 26, 2009 Author Report Posted March 26, 2009 (edited) sorry i forgot to mention it does have pro design coolhead on it. i dont know which domes as i never tore into it. so the higher the dome the more or less compression? should i also change out the head to a noss or chariot or will this serve me just fine? n/m i think my question was answered. so the higher the number the lower the compression. so if i run a 18cc dome its now more compression than stock? sheerider1026 Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 that head will be just fine, the higher the dome cc number=less compression.. get a compression tester and check your compression.. hell you might not even have to run race gas with the way it is.. maybe the guy just told you that as a sales pitch.. gotta check that compression with a gauge first,, then check back with us.. i would say 160ish and under is ok for 93 octane.. JasonsBanshee Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 I run 19s and I'm at 160psi. I can run 93 without a problem. Quote
locogato11283 Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 before you do anything, you need to check your compression. thats the first step.. report back. Quote
