I saw in some threads that you need a spring compressor i got that already just don't know how to disassemble them. Thanks. Quote

Thanks. the shock should have a retaining clip on the top of the shock (opposite end from the pre-load setting). once you compress the spring it should fall apart where you can remove and replace the spring.... :thumbsup: Quote

dajogejr Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 Yep...it's kinda like a key/keyhole. Compress the spring and the washer type looking keeper will slide out. The pressure holds it in place and locks it... Careful not to ruin the chromie homie..... Quote

305Shee Posted March 24, 2009 Author Report Posted March 24, 2009 (edited) Will do hopefully i can get it done today...I tore my bike down again for like the 100th time to clean it up...so this was part of my process to get the springs installed also been working on polishing all my parts that are not chrome they look like shit already... I have been hitting it up with 2000 grit and Mother Polish its looks good but wish it was shinier...any suggestions. Heres a Quick Pic Edited March 24, 2009 by 305Shee Quote

It's a wadding polish, tear a little piece off, use it like a wax on chrome, then let it haze and buff it off the chrome. I had some pretty nasty RDZ/Shearer inframes a few years ago, lots of pitted rust spots. It took one helluva long time to clean them up and a lot of elbow grease, but they came out looking nice as hell. Guy that sold them to me (for real cheap) couldn't believe they were the same pipes.... Quote

mark101180 Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 Take the billit stuff to A cotton wheel with some polishing compound, the only way to do it right. what do you mean by the only way to do it right. its fukin polishing as long as it comes out shiny you did it right. i personally prefer using a rag and polishing compound then polishing cream then wax and i do just as nice if not better than a cotton wheel. as long as you polish it good once and keep up on it there is no need to waste ur time tearing ur bike apart and messing up ur garage every time it dulls out Quote

The polishing is coming out great ...i first did some wet-sanding with 2k grit and then Mothers Polish by hand what a difference. Over the summer im going to tear down the whole bike To paint the frame so at that time i will hit up all the polish pieces with the polishing wheel to really get all the edges etc. Quote
