Start by changing you spark plugs and drain out the old gas and put fresh gas and pre-mix oil in. Your carb's probably need a good cleaning also (very easy to do). But start by the first two things i said above. If your having problems just ask, don't be scared of working on your shee, it's very simple to do almost anything if your new in the game. Also get a clymers banshee manual also for easy step by step shit. Edited March 21, 2009 by savage420 Quote
locogato11283 Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 could be: bad gas gummed up carbs fouled spark plugs id get new gas, some new plugs and clean the carbs out really well. Quote
laidout20 Posted March 24, 2009 Author Report Posted March 24, 2009 ok first the carbs were cleaned this winter. now i put new plugs in today and started it up. giving it gas a little. its blowing exhaust out both pipes again but the left side is blowing blue smoke and the right is white. and also the right side keeps like backfiring like it will all the sudden pop its not blowing exhaust like the other side. what does that mean? If its smoking white on your right side, coolant is leaking in. Pull your clutch cover and replace the seals for your impeller and what ever else is worn out in there. Few bux in seals and your golden  . Quote
Ineedmoney Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 Whats funny is that i really shouldnt have bought my banshee last year ether, I didnt know a thing about it. Thank god i got a buddy who wns a shop and shows me stuff. Im not the type of guy who can just read shit off here and respond to the actual problem on the bike. But my i bought my banshee when it was back firing and it looked like shit. What i did was 1. change spark plugs every two times out. 2. clean the freaking air filter 3. make sure ur breaks are good. lol ( my friends breaks went out last weak.) 4. Put fresh gas in it. dont just pourmore in it. That wont solve anything. 5. clean the carbs. i oculd use a good carb cleaning myself Mines starting to bog in first a little. Thats should be about it. Idk wah tot say about the blue and white smoke. mine blows out like grey smoke. Quote
98_shee Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 Backfiring could be an air leak, look for cracks in your intake boots. If your impeller seal is out it wont make it smoke, your crankcase is sealed. Keep an eye on your coolant level, if its burning coolant you should be able to smell it. You should pull your carbs off pull the pilots and mains out and clean them real good make sure all the small holes in the pilots are not cloged, while you have your carbs off it will be easier to check your intake boots for cracks. There is enough info and good ppl on here to help you with anything you need just ask. Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 (edited) Sorry i meant to say the right side crank seal is proly leaking. Type to fast for my thinking's  Edited March 25, 2009 by savage420 Quote

laidout20 Posted March 25, 2009 Author Report Posted March 25, 2009 quick question. what is a good psi for compression on both cylinders? both were at 115 psi. it is completely stock. never been rebuilt or anything. now i started it up today and was watching closely. starts off running fine then it starts to bog or miss??? and pop when you give it gas on the right side. still think it has to do with coolant getting into the gas? today the exhaust were both blue. haha i hate to sound like a dumba$$. i just have no idea. would it have anything to do with the coil? i was told that could be it too.
