i dont know if it is to soon to say that fixed it. i put in fresh gas after i drained the tank and it seems to be running better. i cant really test it out in my neighborhood so im going to bring it north this weekend. ill keep you posted. thanks again.
-
thanks for the reply dude. you explained everything great. im going to see if i can get the tank drained this week. it was sitting with premix in there for a couple weeks. im wondering if that is the problem. otherwise i can go from there. there is still the stock lid and snorkel on the airbox. and i looked the other day and it doesnt look like any airleaks around the boots. thanks.

i have a completly stock banshee. its starting to get cold here and my banshee started running like poo. its fowling out one side which is the right. do i need to make any adjustments on the carb to lean it out or what. i guess im confused on what to start checking. at an idle if you thumb the throttle it loads up and pops. or i was riding on trails the other day got into about 3rd or 4th and let off and it wants to quit or bogs down hard. any suggestions?

i run premium 32:1 klotz benol. diddnt see airleaks around the boots to the carbs

completely stock 2000 banshee. its acting like its fowling out a plug on the right side. just put new plugs in it runs somewhat but will backfire like its loading up. carbs are in sync and clean.....im new to this and dont really know what else to look for

i will definately follow. i need to finish fixing up my house as well and sell. im going to try and get transfered to gordon food service in ocala. i have been thinking about it alot lately. get the hell out of michigan!

i agree too. just like 22s on an s10. if done right they look good. but no way id spend that much money on wheels. 20s are the biggest id ever go. have fun driving around on michigan roads with some 22" billets!

yeah i see what your saying. started out just me and my buddy working on trucks down at his shop. now we have both kind of gotten away from it. im stuck with a truck in pieces that needs to be put back together. i dont even care about it like i used to. ive gone to indy for the past 4 years i think but thats cancelled now. I think i may be going to camp n drag which i think is replacing indy and that is next month. hopefully i can sell the red truck by the end of summer.
-
your truck is badass! did you sell it? i want to get my white one atleast rolling and running. i built the truck so far but came across a deal on the orange one so i bought that and drove it until i sold it. now a few years later i just bought the red one a few weeks ago. the edc was seized up on it and the guy i bought it from didnt know what to do. got it cheap and now im somewhat ready to resell.
-
haha i just wanted to let everyone know how much fun i had. can see how it is addicting. as far as signing my checks over to the parts guys. WISH I COULD! used to be able to blow money. hard paying for a house and hobbies on single income. oh and awesome truck dude. heres a few pictures of the trucks ive owned/own. i have the red one and piece of sh*t white one still. didnt build the blue/orange one or the red one. im going to put the red one up for sale very soon hopefully make some money i got it cheap.

so ive had my banshee for a year now. riding mostly trails. ive always been really into mini trucks and not really riding. i went up to silver lake yesterday and i think im hooked. haha my banshee is completely stock and ive had a few problems with it running like shit but now it runs great! i was racing a few people and just having a blast. so now i need to sell all my truck bullshit and start buying shit for the banshee. just wanted to let everyone know i had a blast yesterday.

quick question. what is a good psi for compression on both cylinders? both were at 115 psi. it is completely stock. never been rebuilt or anything. now i started it up today and was watching closely. starts off running fine then it starts to bog or miss??? and pop when you give it gas on the right side. still think it has to do with coolant getting into the gas? today the exhaust were both blue. haha i hate to sound like a dumba$$. i just have no idea. would it have anything to do with the coil? i was told that could be it too.
-
thanks for all the replies im going to see if i can do some work on it in the next couple days. and see what happens. its not that im scared to work on it. im somewhat mechanically inclined. i just dont know enough about 2 strokes to troubleshoot.
-
ok first the carbs were cleaned this winter. now i put new plugs in today and started it up. giving it gas a little. its blowing exhaust out both pipes again but the left side is blowing blue smoke and the right is white. and also the right side keeps like backfiring like it will all the sudden pop its not blowing exhaust like the other side. what does that mean?
-
got my banshee out today after having problems this winter. started it up. runs fine, exhaust coming out both pipes. right side starts to die down and barely puffing any smoke. take it down the street and it wants to hesitate and bog. i think i made a mistake on buying this because i really dont know enough about them to troubleshoot. can anyone help me? anyone around grand rapids mi want to come take a look?

Will my Banshee fit in the bed of a 1998 S-10
laidout20 replied to run's topic in General Banshee Discussion
my front wheels get stuck on the wheel tubs in the bed. its easier with two people. one person lifting the front end other lifting the back end. if you have ramps its alot easier to do by yourself. -
can someone explain to me what the jets do in the carbs? i got my banshee running now and its freezing out. took it out for a spin and it wants to bog out and pop. everything is completely stock and i was told i should re-jet it. can someone point me in the right direction.

ive been mixing 40:1 with klotz benol

well seem to have got it fixed..... im not sure what it was but now its running strong on both cylinders. starts right up since i hooked the choke tube back up haha. im anxious to ride it now! thanks for all the backup im sure ill be back for more help. now i can start working on my truck again.
-
a bit of an update. just did a compression test and both cylinders are right around 100 psi after a few kicks. now i pulled the airbox back out to look at the carbs. they seem "synced" to me and the beveled side of the slide is pointing towards the air box. they are also both getting gas. i did forget to connect the choke tube so i did that. would the "reeds" have anything to do with the problem? i guess i dont understand what they do or how to see if they are the problem.
-
i guess im a little confused right now anyway......it ran fine up until a couple weeks ago. then i noticed there wasnt as much power and the exhaust wasnt coming out as strong on the right side. thats when i had the carbs cleaned... the only thing i think will answer my question right now is doing a compression test which i should have done before i pulled the head off... so im going to try and get a compression tester by the end of the week. because i dont think it has anything to do with the jets or reeds or any of that right now.....i could be wrong.

thanks for the help im going to see if i an get out there this week and take the carbs off and look. ill let you knwo what i find out. how do i tell if the bowls are switched?
-
im going to sound like a complete dummy here but how do i rejet the carbs? it is freezing here and it did start running like shit when it started to get colder out. i did put new gas in the tank also and it didnt make a difference. also where can i order a new head gasket online? again i appreciate all the help and not making me feel so stupid about it but im trying to learn.
-
it was running like junk before the carbs were taken off though? but now it wont even start i did spray a little starting fluid into the air box and it ran off the ether. im going to look at the carbs to see if they are in sync in a bit here...ill let you know thanks.

Start off by introducing myself. im kris from grand rapids mi. im used to being on s10forum. im new to banshees, hoping i wouldnt have to post in here with problems but here we go. First off i bought my banshee in the spring and rode it all summer and love it. its completely stock and totally fine with me. now on to the problem. couple weeks ago i noticed it wasnt running as strong. first thought is that i blew it up. the exhaust was only strong on the left side. i started by changing the plugs, didnt help. then i had the carbs cleaned, didnt help. so i pulled the head off and the cylinders and pistons look fine to me. the cylinders arent scratched up or anything, now i was told to check the reeds to see if they are stuck open??? i would just like to know if i am going about this all wrong or if theres anything else i can check. any help would be appreciated. like i said im new and dont know a whole lot about this but very willing to learn. thanks ahead of time. sorry for the novel haha. kris
