04chase
has anyone ever ran into a problem powdercaoting mulitple rate springs? i did mine the same color as my bike but now when i try to fit the metal sleeves inside the first and second set of springs the powder seems to have thickened it to where i cant get them in at all. dont know what to do from here. i dont really want to scrape all the powder off but what choice do i have ? locogato11283
id use a dremel and carefully remove just enough material to get them in. if you do it just right you wont even be able to notice i wouldnt think.. i dont know that you really have any other options. I think thats about a good an answer as your going to get. You gotta do what you gotta do, obviously some PC has to come off, just try take off the minimum amount. mabye lightly sand the PC instead of using a dremel.
locogato11283
how tight is it? could some lube be applied and the force the spacers in??
04chase
like so tight i bound one up and had to use alot of mallet to get it out. i need them to go in pretty freely otherwise they will bind not giving the shock its full funtionality. im going to see what kind of tips i can find for the dremel . im thinking the ones that are like little buffing wheels. what kind of bits did you use crazy cat? locogato11283
i rarely use a dremel, but i would think one that grinds metal would take off PC fairly easily.
dbdragracing
I would like to have my stock springs powdercoated...does it hold up? Are the stock springs powdercoated from the factory? I just assumed they were painted, but since Im getting a bunch of other stuff powdercoated might as well do these too. Thanks.
