cylinder bore?

Recommended Posts

O.k well been looking around with no luck, I just bought a set of cylinders the guy said they're stock bore. Just want to know what the conversion ratio is from mm to in. (or what a stock bore is in inches) I dont have any way to measure metric stuff.

0.010" = 0.25mm

1" = 25.4mm

You need a bore guage to check your cylinders. You need to measure 3 places the same direction as the piston pin and three places 90 degree's to the pin. This will give you the taper of the cylinders and tell you if they are out of round.

Clymers manual spec,s

Taper limit .05mm or .002 in.

Out of round .01mm or .0004 in.

I have also been told you should not buy pistons to fit cylinders because each pistons is different. You should buy pistons and have the cylinders bored to them.
