dragbanshee Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Like it says, I was wondering if it would be safe to talk an ebay seller into ending an auction and selling the product on the side. HE has 99.0% feedback or score, about 2000 transactions, however that goes. Its a $300 sale and a steel at that price. Should I take the chance, Im kinda in a bind here and really need this by next Sat. Its going through paypal, if something happened, would paypal cover it? prolly a dumb question, but what do you guys think? Quote
lowbuckracing Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Ive cut many short deals on ebay and used paypal, and never been burned..get the guy to call you so you also have his number... Quote
R. Rollins Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 \If you want to really play it safe; Just have him list it as a buy it now auction and have him tell you when he will list it. Then you can catch it the minuite it is listed. Ive done this many times. The E-bay safety factor remains that way. Pay pal is secure but the Added effectiveness of the certified auction (buy it now feature) will ensure your assets are well insured. Quote

Jeeperace Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 One time I traded phone numbers with a buyer that wanted me to end one early. I ended it, he used pay-pal and I shipped it. It worked for him because I was trustworthy. But I wouldn't do one that way if I was the buyer, but thats just me. I would probably suggest something like Rollins said. Quote
grizzly700 Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 if he has 99% positive feedback and 2000 transactions he is prolly not out to screw you but if u are still nervous then just do wat rollins here says. Quote

dragbanshee Posted February 27, 2009 Author Report Posted February 27, 2009 Thanks guys, I sent him a message asking him if there was a way to do it through ebay or if he could call me, or leave his # and I would call him, no response yet. Im out of work still, and really hate to give $300 away. Quote
RollinRhino Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 I have ended early if people have a lot of transactions and great feedback from them. Anything else I tell them to take a number and wait in line like everyone else or be the highest bidder and out right win it. Quote

bbcmudtruck Posted February 28, 2009 Report Posted February 28, 2009 2000 with 99% feedback... I say go for it if its a steal. However on the other hand I'm the king of good deals and shitty turnouts.. Quote
