YFZRida05 Posted February 21, 2009 Author Report Posted February 21, 2009 http://www.atvsource.com/articles/product_...c_pipe_test.htm These pipes are the BEST. I've had a set before that got stolen, and I just bought a new set. They are not in full production, we only had a couple made, I heard 25 sets from DMC when I asked them... but i'm sure it's going to be just a little more than that... NOT much more though. i would be intersted in seeing some dyno results on these pipes. i liked them till they were put back into production i feel like now that they r back they wont be as unique Quote
bbcmudtruck Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 Interesting! I Would like to see data compared to t5s. Good find! Quote
spike Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 I personnaly think that the single center mounter silencer looks like ass but I heard good things about them power wise. never heard a set either but I really doubt they would match a set of shearer screaming up a hill.... Quote
Fireroad Express Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 so even as a newb ive heard so much about these pipes, like they are the messiah of all shee pipes. im on the market for pipes now but im very picky.... so would these be my best bet? with a dune port, v3s, cool head plus 4 timing? are they a mid top pipe? these are a real good pipe ,don't get me wrong, but you should choose your pipe for the type of riding you do. this is a good all around pipe, but they would not have the pull of a shearer or cpi on the top end. i got good power on bottom and up through mid range, but it all depends on what you have for mods. i can't really say wheather they react well to porting because my engine was never stock and as much as i hate to say, i 've never rid'in a banshee that was stock. to sum it up: great multi-use pipe that sounds real good. and patriot racing recommends DMC's for thier trail package: Quote> Patriot 350cc Hot Trail Engine This engine configuration with modest cylinder porting alterations and the right combinations of exhaust, intake, and head design makes this a smooth pulling motor. Pipes: We highly recommend DMC pipes. With slightly more mid range and smoother power, we prefer these pipes over most. Carbs: 28mm flat slide carbs- either 28mm Keihin PWKs. The flatslide carb gives excellent throttle response. The inlet diameter is "right-sized" not too large not too small. Reed cages: V-Force reed cages with billet intakes. Or the stock intake boots. The V Force cage with its W design provides for superior intake velocity, which equates to good throttle response. Crankshaft: The heart of any good engine is it crankshaft. We highly recommend for ANY Banshee to have the stock crank trued and welded. Cylinder head: An aftermarket billet head with domes for a 15:1 compression ratio on race fuel is the best performing. For premium pump gas motors we modifying the stock head to a 13:1 compression ratio. Ignition timing: At a minimum the stock stator mounting plate must be modified to provide for at least 4 degrees of timing advance. The ability of the motor after cylinder porting alterations and the pipes fitted allow for a greater peak RPM- this higher peak does not suit the stock timing curve. We recommend 4 degrees advance for pump gas motors and 6 degrees for race fuel motors. Cylinder porting alterations: We work with the customer to determine their exact power delivery needs- then we apply our experience and knowledge in reworking the cylinder porting arrangement. The transfer ports- the choke point on any Banshee cylinder gets special attention crafting them to suit the motors needs. Continuing the intake is reshaped providing for excellent intake velocity which equates to crisp and robust throttle response and snap. The exhaust port then is re-cut for the required duration as well as the required width and the ever important shape- the sum of the cylinder porting alterations create a very wide powerful delivery of horsepower and torque. Still not sure how they compare to the t5s. Quote
TwistedSheeRida Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 nice hopefully they will still be around in a few months want to get a set but not enough cash flow right now Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 It's a good day for the Banshee! Quote

R. Rollins Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 Damn; I barely made the purchase list for these pipes. That was too close. But Hey; I finally have the pipes comming soon. I plan on timing a few runs with a stock "new Banshee" at mile high. Then put on the new pipes and time it as well. Maybe even try out my old T-5`s as well sort of a comparrison. Maybe I can video the entire process. Interesting to see how I do. See ya next month when we all get our pipes. :ermm: Quote
Dick Wheels Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 Is the alien system the same as the 916 system (sound wise)? I really like the sound of the DMC's and even though the 916's are cool I still prefer the look of the real duals myself. I'm glad they went back in production for everyone though Quote
blaster2006 Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 DMC on their website claims 37% more hp, oh, as for the performance, i have them, they pull WAY hARD on top end and rev more than toomeys, its like an imporved version of toomeys... like i said before they are TOP end pipes. Quote
R. Rollins Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 Man I thought you had just ordered new Toomy T-5 pipes for some reason, I remember something in a thread you recently wrote about some new pipes you had just got that had a small dent in them. Was that the DMC 916 pipes that had the dent? Quote
Fireroad Express Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 yep, "the DMC dent".they come like that from the factory. i forget wether its to clear the cylinder head or to clear the output hose for the coolant. i'll have to go down stairs and look. then again maybe later........ Quote
Snopczynski Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 Alright, woo hoo! Yeah, I am still not going to buy a set or ever run them on any of my bikes! Quote
4stroker Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 Alright, woo hoo! Yeah, I am still not going to buy a set or ever run them on any of my bikes! there are alot of people who would say the same about pro-circuits.... each to their own i guess! Quote
