eagle Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 I am looking to buy a woods bike since my Banshee is not exactly tuned for it. I want injection on my next bike so hopefully I can adjust it easier when I go to the mountains to ride. I was wondering if there is a list of injected quads and when they went injeted? I notice the Suz 400 and 450, and the Yam 450R and 700R. I do not know when they went injected either. Trying to put this together so I can do some shopping. Will likely buy used. Thanks guys! Quote

Kawasaki 450r also is fuel injection! Quote
grizzly700 Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 (edited) I test drove 700r and it was pretty bad but no where near the rush of a banshee. Would be a tight woods bike tho! Edited January 28, 2009 by grizzly700 Quote
locogato11283 Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 the new yfz450 is the only one i would buy. Quote
official_style Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 if i was in your position, i would buy.... um ..... another banshee, and make it a trail bike. Quote
4stroker Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 im pretty sure none of the quads and mx bikes out at the moment are actually closed loop injection systems like on cars, eg no 02 sensor in the exhaust. therefore they wont automatically adjust for different elevations/temps etc. this means you need a laptop and software to "rejet" rather than just a bag of jets and a spanner or two... official_style Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 thats gay, doesnt that kinda defeat the whole point of having fuel injection? Quote
shadow746 Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 if i was in your position, i would buy.... um ..... another banshee, and make it a trail bike. I agree  Quote
T_Shee Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 still easier than changing jets and such. just a lot more expensive. i saw the first supercross (dirtbike) race this season where james stewart and chad reed both went down, reeds bike fired right back up and stewarts took forever to get going again. reeds was fuel injected stewarts carbureted Quote
grizzly700 Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 on the FI grizzly u can cut and ground a wire and access the fuel system to change fuel settings or some shit. i havent done it to mine cause i beleive it would void warranty and shit but i would assume u could do it on the new raptors that have the new hud and FI or watever. official_style Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 they should come out with some kind of handheld, kind of like the SCT xcal2 i have for the mustang, you can make minor adjustments right from the tuner, anything major needs a laptop tho. Quote

Yeah, I realize nothing runs closed loop yet. I think the only one is the CBR sport bikes that I am aware of. I am just sick of tuning carbs and injection just has many more advantages like no lean out on extreme inclines and such. Just much easier to push a button than carry jets around. Guys, I am really just looking for a list of injected bikes. Not really a recommendation at this point. I just want to learn which are injected and what years so I can go try out a few. Because of the tight woods in the mountains, big torque is more important than anything. Just means the 450s may not be the best choice for my needs but I really want to compile a list at this point.
