official_style Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 soo someone send me there stock screws, and ill send you the intake spacers and longer screws! great deal!! Quote
GrMeyer Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 soo someone send me there stock screws, and ill send you the intake spacers and longer screws! great deal!! Ace is the place!!! But i could see that spacing out the carb from the reeds might help at higher RPM and will also help out F/M. but the 3/8 i believe the space is, is not enough to see any gains. but if you go back to a V8 carb. you can add diff sizes of carb spacers to change where your tq and hp curves hit. but it is little if any change. Thats why they make diff cams. as for the 2 stroke we have different porting. And if your spacers is on. Is it on the jug side or the carb side? Quote

Dinner Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 i heard that on stock barrels and reed blocks the help to unmask the boost ports more. and that the fuel has more time to speed up and atomize better, THEORETICALLY but theoretically boost bottles are GRRRRRRREAT. LOL Stock Cylinders do not have Boost Ports :ermm: ...or am I miss understanding your statement? Quote
gregrob Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 soo someone send me there stock screws, and ill send you the intake spacers and longer screws! great deal!! I'll take that deal, if you're serious. Hell I'll even send you brand new screws. Quote
official_style Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 i am dead serious, i want as few things on my quads as possible to cause me problems. i should be able to get them off within a week. Quote

In theory.. the longer intake tracts have better velocity.. Quote

You want to keep the reeds closest to the jugs. so the spacer needs to be on the carb side. In theory.. the longer intake tracts have better velocity.. True and all but you also have to look at that each cylinder has its own carb on the banshee unless you have a 2-1. and the v8 has one or 2 4br carbs to feed that thing. so if anything i would see a better performance on the 2-1. I personally feel that thet the gains from spacers are minimal if any. They should only be used to clear the clutch actuator... I was just stating the theory behind spacing the carb away from the reed cage. When I used a spacer I put it between the carbs and reeds. There was a guy awhile back that did some dyno work with spacers... but.. i'm not searchin for it.. lol Quote
deckheight Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 Stock Cylinders do not have Boost Ports :ermm: ...or am I miss understanding your statement? The bust or "boost" port is the single one on the intake side. Or maybe I'm not understanding either... Quote
shanYE west Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 The bust or "boost" port is the single one on the intake side. Or maybe I'm not understanding either... Yep.. ur right. The one just above the main intake is the boost port. Quote
