vulvafan537240 Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 k&n pods are best but if you ride through any water be careful Quote
05.Banshee.SE Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Posting what mods you have done and what riding you do would help. There is no "one fit all" for everybody. It's more application specific. Quote
Powerstroke Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 I really like my Toomey 2into1 filter. A little scared about water/mud it is really out in the open. Time will tell how it works out. Quote
official_style Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 i had the toomey 2:1 and it is definetly sucking if you are riding thru water/mud. now i have cfm airboxes with uni filter pods w/outerwears, i have not installed and run them yet, but they look like a top quality part, and i dont think i will be having water problems any more. (i cant say anything about the seller but my transaction went smoothly.) Quote
mignumspeed Posted January 20, 2009 Author Report Posted January 20, 2009 well its a 87 with namura 80 over pistons the rest is stock i like to trail ride in the mtns so yea mud and water dusty trails. Quote
official_style Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 well from the looks of it, the cfm box should be good, i do the same shit, mtns, dirt roads, mud holes, huge puddles, pretty much whatever the fuck it will go thru i drive thru. i wont be able to tell you how they work out till it gets warmer here, but it seems pretty well covered up to me. boneyardbanshee. Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 hmm that looks like a cool setup. I would get the outerwear lid for it also. I run a stock air box with a pro flow, outerwear on the filter and one for a "lid". The one that covers the airbox collects alot of mud that still manages to fly up there. Quote

official_style Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 got it here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Bans...sQ5fAccessories you also have to buy 2 filters for it, i went with unis with outerwears. this setup seems to me like the benefits of running pods, but with water protecton. looks way better than the stock airbox too. the one for my black bike is getting powdercoated now. GrMeyer Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 list all your mods and some people will help to get you close to where you need to be with jetting and then you have to ride the horse to get the rest of the way Quote
