mclark408 Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 (edited) Just bought a banshee a few weeks ago. Having isuues with rear end going crooked. I can tighten the chain, ride it down the street and it goes crooked. Chain gets loose. Is the top part where the rear end bolt to the swing arm suppose to move when the rear end is loose? This is the first Banshee I have bought so I am trying to figure some of this stuff out. This is a 2000 model. I can ge pics if it would help. Thanks guys. Edited January 14, 2009 by mclark408 Quote

Stock rear end you have top and bottom bolts, then you have your adjusting bolts "small ones" sticking straight out the back. loosen top & bottom then loosen the lock nuts on the small adjuster bolts and turn the bolts in or out to adjust the carrier, axle, Then when you have where you want it tighten the lock nuts and then the larger bolts top & bottom. That should keep it from getting out of wack. Hope that helps you out. Quote
shee4speed Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 If you have everything tight and it still loosens.I would think that something is missing.Pics would be good. You sure everything is intact? Maybe someone else has seen this before. Quote

Thanks guys. it kinda sounds like either 1 ur not using the adjusters correctly or 2 you are all together missing the adjusters. this is the way i do it its probably not right but it works. 1st loosen the 4 big bolts enough that the arent pinching anything. 2nd losen the jam nut on the adjuster. 3rd kick the wheels in til the 1 of the adjuster bolts touch the spot they are supposed to be in and then make th other touch. 4th run the adjuster bolts in or out evenly til you get the desired chain slop i like about 2 inches with the swinger unloaded. and use the reference lines on the adjuster. 5th tighten the 4 big bolts the torque on them is until you fart or shit ur pants. last with 2 wrenches tighten ur adjuster nuts. i hope this helps you. AKheathen Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 mine is crooked too. the axle carrier and bolt is wollard out, and either needs replaced, or welded up round again. as far as the chain coming loose, check the sprockett bolts/ holes. when i got mine, the bolts were loose, and if you don't catch it in time, the holes can wear out, making it harder to get on strait. mclark408 Posted January 15, 2009 Author Report Posted January 15, 2009 I noticed it did not have the locking nuts on the adjusters. I put some on but have not rode it yet. Also at the top bolt and nut it does look a little wallered out. Thanks for the info guys. I'll let you know how it does this weekend. Quote
