225GUY Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 I have what I have listed. I bet there are a lot of these out there but... The topic says it all... I do a lot of trail riding, will half tight corners, half long long stretches and hills.... What mods next? Quote

fck55mph Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 I whole-heartedly second the adjustable timing plate!! I did mine recently and it woke it up. Get the correct flywheel puller and the job will take you a whole 20-30 minutes and its WELL worth it. Quote

uwenr Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 I would suggest a timing plate and a cool head to pump your compression. milling the stock head is way cheaper and more reliable. lighten the flywheel while you have it off Quote
Snopczynski Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 milling the stock head is way cheaper and more reliable. lighten the flywheel while you have it off Cheaper=yes, more reliable=no. Coolhead adds slightly more cooling capacity, easier to clean up and replace o-rings on a rebuild. Its also easier to just replace a dome if the motor comes apart on you. With a stock head you would have to have the domes rechambered or replace the head. You can also change out domes and fine tune your compression with a coolhead. Quote
donkeypuncher Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 Do you have fatty pipes, or gnarly pipes? haha, thats what i was wondering. Quote
GrMeyer Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 what are you running for an intake filter? If you are riding in mud then I would say deff keep the lid on but you can drill the botttom of the lid to help flow more air down onto the filter. But if not and want to keep the box I would say add a K&N with outerwear and they do make the outerwear lid cover which keeps a lot of stuff out. Quote
