Troubledsol Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 I ride all trails and hills But I have Paul Turner Mids Quote
wesw Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 hands down dmc 916 are best sounding pipes, ive been around a lot of pipes and they sound the best. would be a good trails pipe and hills also for you. Quote
Snopczynski Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 You have a wide range of pipes listed. You have low-mid pipes, top end pipes, and fmf could be low-mid, mid, or mid-top depending what pipe you get. So your gonna need to clarify what your riding style and current mods are. I would not EVER pick a pipe based on how it sounds. Quote
docjcwatson Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 I agree with what both of the guys above said. DMC's sound the best. But picking a pipe based solely on that is stupid. I mean yeah your bike will sound mean and get lots of attention. But what if you get the wrong pipe and have no top end for those hill shoots? Quote

killshee Posted January 6, 2009 Author Report Posted January 6, 2009 i like the d916 but how are they 4 power on the trail/mx/hills u kno like PA area Quote
firebanshee Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 Hard to beat the way the T-5s sound and perform. Quote
boneyardbanshee. Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 First off, loose the negativity. That will get you now where. That being said... DMC 916 are very hard to get ahold of nowadays. They dont make them anymore and those who know what they have are very unwilling to part with them. Trust me, I have been trying for years now to get a set. I live in PA aswell. If you want a mean sounding pipes that will compliment our terrain I would have to say PT Mids are the way to go. Someone had a video clip on here and the are very mean sounding. You could also check YouTube. If anyone knows where to pick up a set of 916s I would love to know. Quote
Titan up Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 I think you would be happy with the t-5's. Great sounding and performing mid to upper rpm pipe. I have shearer's now and they're louder and higher pitched then my old Toomey's. The Toomey's were alot cleaner and crisper sounding to me. I'd go with t-5's Quote
Snopczynski Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 If you have the old school fmf gold series, its going to be identical with the T5 power wise, it just may have slightly more midrange power. Your going in the wrong direction to find the right pipe for what your explaining you do. low-mid pipes are the fmf gnarly, pro circuits, pt mids, etc.... Not cpi, shearer, T5, fmf gold series, fmf fatty, fmf sst, etc...... All this info is available on the search, and again, I would not base anything on how a pipe sounds. Quote
