wesw Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 went for a ride today. with the clutch pulled and if you rev the bike up it wants to start to roll or creep forward. what causes this. setup: 8 disk clutch system, lockup, 3 stock springs and 3 of those brutal springs people sell. atf f fluid arrows line up, Quote
Paddleboy Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 instead of using atf try to just use a good brand of 10w 30 engine oil. Quote

locogato11283 Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 arrows line up perfectly. what do the arrows have to do with anything? clutch cables can and do stretch. Quote
AKheathen Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 just my thaught- worn baskett? Quote
docjcwatson Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 Worn basket? On a billet 8 plate clutch? I don't think so. Possible yes. But highly unlikely. I'm thinking adjuster nut man. I'd start there. If you haven't changed the cable in a while. Might look into that also. Quote
dragbanshee Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 Like said above, cable could have stretched and maybe you just need to adjust at perch to get more pull out it. Quote
MikeNick Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 I thought you DO NOT want the arrows to be lined up, I read that on a post that popped up from looking for info on clutch adj. Mine does the same thing. Has it always done this or did it just start?? Quote
wesw Posted December 29, 2008 Author Report Posted December 29, 2008 seemed to start after lockup and those big springs. freeplay at lever is just enough i dont like a lot of free play if i need to tap the clutch to rev up i want it there not have to pull the clutch to get it to rev up quickly.
