i have an 04 banshee. I came to the conclusion that it needs a rebuild due to low compression. i talked with a couple friends regarding the boring process. They said boring a banshee isnt the same as boring a car/truck. they said it will need to nickel plated to reduce heat and friction, they also said if not nickel plated the top end will blow alot faster. just wondering if this is true or false info. any info is much appriaciated, thanks alot

Banshee cylinders are not nickel plated. They are steel, just re-bore and hone as you would a regular engine block from a car. Most new dirt bikes have nickle plated aluminum cylinders, but banshees don't

As stated in the prior post a factory banshee cylinder is not nickasil (nickle plated), but aftermarket mono block cylinders are nickle plated alot of the time, like a cub is nickle plated, and so are alot of the others but, not all of them.
