So earlier this year i bought a 2002 banshee, It has a cool head with 18cc domes, Pods, and CPI pipes. I believe this is all it has as i really haven't torn into it that much. Anywyas my question is would a different pipe help my motor build more power or more usable power anyways? I ride the oregon dunes and St. Anthony when I can but it seems like the usable power in the CPI's is too much for my pretty stock motor. It is dialed in but im still getting outrun by my mildly built 250r and seem to have alot of trouble in the tight tree shots it is dueable dont get me wrong it just seems like i am having to overrev my motor alot and i dont think i am doing my clutch any favors. I am trying to get a hold of poorboy and see if he still wants the CPIS for his PT MR but I figured i would get a few more opinions and see what everyone thinks. I know ALOT of people who dune banshees run these PT's and was considering giving it a shot. Any thoughts would be helpful. And sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

I have run CPIs on stock ported bikes and they run fine. IF you need more bottom end have you installed a timing plate +4? PT mids will have a ton of bottom and less top comparatively. T5s will have a bit more bottom also but if your in trees alot you may be better off with PTs. Tried gearing down??

I think i will try the +4 timing and maybe bump my compression and see what happens and if poorboy wants to trade for the PT's I may give them a shot as well...

have you done a compression test lately maybe the top end is getting tired

It is possbile considering that i ONLY have top end power...Thats what my 250r does when it needs new rings it gives a really finicky power band.

I think it may be that i havent done any performance altering mods to it in a bit and want to try something different as well.

The pipes are probably the reason you have so much top end. If i were you i would keep the pipes get a timing plate and a cool head to get more bottom end. Do a compression test just to make sure its not time for a rebuild.
