ok i got my motor all together and jetted it, did some wot runs and checked the plugs everthing looked good(@300-500ft asl) .......then went ridding about 2 hours away @800-1100ft asl and never thought about it....ran ok all day, not great but ok with a little rough idleing at times and some breaking up @wot......so i ask did the elevation cause this???.......if so how many jet sizes do i need to go up????

the higher you go up in elevation, the thinner the air is, you were running rich 500 feet shouldnt make a huge difference unless u were already rich

also if the temp was a big differecnce it will make it worse also.

You go leaner on the jetting for higher elevation...not richer. Less air means more fuel....so if it was spot on at 300 - 500 ft, it was probably a little rich at 1100 feet.

Ride it again at 300 to 500 feet, see if it still idles rough and pops at WOT.

Most of the time...it's either reeds, carbs out of sync or an electrical issue.

ok well the temp was about the same maybe even 5 degress warmer so that cant be it.....................now you say it may have been running a little richer in a higher elevation.....would that cause it to hesitate/break up like it did at wot in 5-6 gear or could that be a carb sync problem???

do you have a part # for these caps and a place to purchase them?

I get mine from my local bike shop, i do not have the part # , maybe HERR or FAST has them. You can use the ones that don't have resistors built in them but if you do you have to make sure to use a resistor style plug like a bR8es instead of a b8es, or it can damage your cdi. I use the resistor style plug caps myself.

is the stock plug cap a resistor style cause i already use br8es and was wondering if having both resistor style plug and cap would do ant harm???

No, i have used both resistor caps and plugs and it worked with no problems. I have read that you need at least one or the other. I know that it stops electrical interference using resistors and have read that it can harm the cdi without one. I have also used just resistor caps and non resistor plugs with no problems.
