one of the most respected machanics in vegas who used to work for a factory honda team just told my that k&n filters are just about the worse filter u can run if u ride alot of sand..he said alot of dirt gets past em easily..he even showed me the differance between one and a uni in a lil tester thing ..now i have always ran a uni in my shee but im just throwin out a heads up.. :biggrin:

outrer wears help w/ the "SAND" most of you guys run in (large grain) but I agree K&N suck w/ powdered sand..the kinda sand down here, when you step you create a dust cloud when it's dry out !

Did they do the test with outerwears on the filters?

hmmm. wonder if you could stretch a uni filter over a K&N? sounds kinda EF'D up but would definately save your motor.. hmmm. maybe i should try that..

Hmmmm.... Maybe a company as large and successful as K&N knows how to make a good filter by now.

 

If you use the oil and outerwear properly nothing is getting in your motor, period. Provided you claen and "Re Charge" like you should

 

Uni's and foams are good to but your killing me with the K & N filter bashing, they could be the best filters made. They prove that in every race category there is. :geek:

i wasnt disin em ther good shit and last long ..we run one on the other banshee we have i meant for people who ride really fine sand and dust should for sure run the outter ware thats all :thumbsup:

see the problem there is that you said HONDA team. there lab test are prolly conducted in someones garadge and therefor arnt proven.... :laugh:

probably tested without oil also. I have used K&N's for a long time and have yet to see anything get past them.
