I'm considering going with a 2-1 setup as well and some people think that your dumb for not wanting to fool around with 2 carbs instead of 1 and have all that crap in the way. I think the 2-1 would look cool, work great, and be a lot easier to maintain. People give you a hard time because if set up perfect dual carbs work better. I'm not saying anyone pisses me off or anything I just think they should take it easy on "2-1ers"...

There are tons of guys on here who can give jet specs on duals to get you within probably 1 size of being perfect. Theres only maybe 3 guys on here that get get you that close with a single carb. The bottom end gains are minimal, and I say un-noticeable. The the top end loss is not worth it. I spend less time messing with my TM 28mm Flatslide duals than I did messing with my single pwk 35.

The 2 into 1 is a waste of money. Thats why we say dont do it.

Yea everyone is entitled to there opinion. I ride woods, and woods only, so I do not need top end. I have never even seen sixth gear since i've had my shee. If I want to "waste my money" on selling my stockers and getting a 2-1 so be it. People say you lose like 5 hp on the top end but that hp is non existent for me. 1 carb to clean, 1 carb to tune. I'm just saying be careful before you speak for the entire bansheehq and tell me how it is.

whats done to your bike? idk where it is but the 35 mm has been dyno tested and is borderline too bike tther was NO gainfrom like 80% throttle to wfo or somthing like that. if you want more bottom end get a smaller carb i believe. and some pt mids and youll think you have a 4 stroke

So here's the deal. The testing I did applies to banshees that are built for low-mid power. Your current setup with fatty's hardly makes it a trails or woods bike. The fatty with a stock port motor renders a redline of around 9,200-9,500 rpm range. My test results were done on a low-mid ported 350 with pro circuits. My redline is 8,700 rpm. Test results for an even higher revving motor would be an even bigger than a 4.75hp increase in topend. Topend is not 5th or 6th gear pinned. Its the high rpm of your motor in any gear period. I climb a lot of holes and ride a lot of trails with technical hill climbs out in the dunes of the Oregon coast. I have situations where I will take off from a 6 foot long strip of sand up a hill, dodge trees, climb over a log and manuever around corners. This demands a decent amount of low end power to get back on the throttle after maneuvering around an obstacle and having to let off. You can be on the topend in 1st gear, as well as in 6th gear. So yes this test applies even to you. It is very hard to convey to someone hp and torque numbers as they relate to the actual power a bike will make off the dyno. As well as what different gains in hp and torque will do off the dyno at a given throttle openings. I cannot convey enough that the rpm range this single setup makes power at is very minimal and minute. I would be very surprised if someone with a perfectly tuned set of duals switched to a perfectly tuned single setup and noticed a gain in low end power. I personally ran the single carb and a single pipe for 2 years before moving on to bigger and better power making parts. This is my opinion as you so eloquently put it. However, its an opinion based on some supporting facts as opposed to word of mouth or just someone else's opinion. People will tell you to stick to duals, but I can tell you why you should stick to duals. Your gonna see a bigger gain from getting a better set of low-end pipes and a cool head than you will from that single carb anyway. So focus your money and time towards something that will actually get you what you want power wise.
