I finally broke the stock throttle cable on the shee and installed the TORS Kit. Fired up the bike and it is running on only one cylinder. The left side is dead. This bike was screaming at Coos before the cable snapped. Is there anything electrical I have to disconnect other than the TORS connectors or is it in the carb somewhere. That carb is also leaking from the bowl on that side. Any thoughts on where to begin? I have gone through the carbs, fresh plugs, fresh fuel

Did you splice the two wires that go to the throttle switch?

What two wires on the throttle switch? and where do I splice them? I just unplugged the TORS crap and put the new stuff on the carbs

I did sinc the carbs. I will tear them back down and recheck them. I am going to take the TORS wiring out of there as well. I don't think it will make a difference but useless weight. I am not sure what else to do with the dead cylinder. What might you also check? And what's with the two wires on the throttle switch?

Dont worry about the wires right now just make sure you got slides in with cutouts facing the rear and the choke rubber tube connecting the carbs. You unhooked the tors thats good enough, check plug wires just in case, may have accidentally popped it off. Good luck!

Make sure the new carb tops are on tightly.

Look under the front left portion of the bike...there should be a 1" x 1" (approximate) box under roughly where the gas tank is.

It has wires that run south to the carb tops, and north to the handle bars.

Start @ the box and remove the wires connected to that box.

They are all junk.

Then synch the carbs.

Make sure the slides are facing the right direction.

Not removing all of the computer and brain will cause your bike to run like shit, cause it's trying to shut itself down. If you just remove the carb tops and not all of the computer, it's going to be active w/o any signals from the carb tops and try and kill her.

Sorry, yea disconnect the box and all, I thought you were going to clean wires out of harness. I'd get it running before you strip wires out of harness just to make sure you don't pull something else loose and cause it not to run.

True.

I had my bike running @ different times during the removal to make sure my bike was doing alright.

You'll know once the TORS monkey is off your back, and you're clear to rip whatever is left hanging off.

Hows it going? Ive been Toomey racing's tech for the past eight years. So I've installed a ton of TORS eliminators. You need to unplug the whole TORS system incl. two conectors going to the carb caps, TORS command unit located left side under the tank (small black box with one connecter) also unplug the throttle switch follow the wire from the throttle to the plug allong the steering stem behind the rad. (DO NOT SPLICE ANY WIRES TOGETHER) try that first then move on to the carbs, vac. choke tube, slides. As for the fuel leak the needle and seats dont last long.

Runs like a champ! After I unpluged the whole mess, fired right up and sounds great. Headin to the dunes next month over Thanksgiving and give it a test at Florence.

Thanks for all the help. I will have to buy some new seats for the carbs to stop the $8.00 per gallon fuel from hitting the ground.
