2strokespirit Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Hi Guys, I have been a member here for about 2 years know... I am South African for those who don't know me... We have started a Forum is South Africa, mainly for Banshees. Please guys understand me right here... I think Banshee HQ is and will be always the best forum for banshees, but this site is specific to get the South African Banshee community going, meeting people and organizing riding events and I will be trying to get the whole banshee DRAG thing going as well.... Some South Africans will say its impossible, but I need HQs help, if I wanted to be competition to you guys I would have choose the domain .com and NOT .co.za and still I would have NO CHANCE at all trying to create a better banshee site... So please, see that this is nothing about "stealing" members, South Africa is not near that big.. Off cause overseas riders can register... Like said I need you guys help.... I am doing mainly all of this, any input and help will be great, you guys can even register and start some posts just to get this thing going... Member growth will be slow, cause South Africa's internet services is just starting to grow, please guys, don't bash on me, the site is just in its beginning state and will change while time goes by... It will hopefully be up and running end of this week.. Everyone has to start somewhere right? To all the South Africans, please guys register, we want to get the Banshee thing hauling again here and want to try and organize banshee events.... Thank you guys... Visit My Website Quote

Mjv420 Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 (edited) Dont really see what the big deal about it is. The guy is just trying to start a site and involve people on his side of the world, you dont need anybody's approval from here. Im not saying its a great idea to come here and advertise but really what does it matter? good luck with your forum 2strokespirit. Edited September 8, 2008 by Mjv420 Quote
Paddleboy Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 its interesting that banshee's have gotten so far as to south africa. i didnt even kno that there was electricity there. even so there cant be alot of guys with banshee's there so why not just make a club. Quote
locogato11283 Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Thanks Loco... man im not trying to be a dick but think about it.. how many members here are from south africa? maybe a handful? and why would anyone else want to spend time answering questions on a site for south africans, when they could simply come here? i think its great that you wanna start a website, but youre asking a bunch of guys to join a site who already have a home when it comes to banshees.. why not just start threads here? there are more than enough forums to get things answered in. and there is an event forum.. it gets tons of hits.. just some suggestions man.. again im not tryin to put you down, i just think youre trying to advertise at the wrong place i guess.. Loco you are right, we are only trying to get the South Africans going, they want .co.za. Really, like most of you guys want .com. They want to meet South Africans. But again, thanks. Quote

Well, you don't know alot do you? We are probably one of the countries with the most banshees, besides usa. We own a massive cut in the quad/dirt bike market, one of the biggest in the world.. We have the Highest dunes in the world in Namibie (search google) and where the dunes is, theres the banshees! South Africa is the gateway of Africa.. Quote
2strokespirit Posted September 8, 2008 Author Report Posted September 8, 2008 word and the website isnt even working. I did say it will be up in a few days, didnt I? The sad thing is that another big forum welcomed it, even the moderators... but thanks anyway, i did not try to offend HQ.. Quote
Mjv420 Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 (edited) Paddleboy and Loco are correct in thought. You would be better off starting a club and making your forum home here at bansheehq rather than creating your own site or forum. It takes alot of work and time to maintain a forum/get hits when all your out to do is try to get people together in SA. You dont want to sacrifice all your riding time trying to maintain a banshee site do ya? Whatever you end up doing I hope you get something going on down there. Edited September 8, 2008 by Mjv420 Quote

Well the maintanance is nothing, my brother runs a big Web solutions company and I do have the time. Thanks anyways, like said, we need a .co.za. Anyways there is so much guys registered at more than 1 forum... Well I do have other support, from that side of the world. Thanks again. Quote
shanYE west Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 I guess i'm not really seeing the problem here either... If the guy wants to build a site and let people know about it here.. More power to him. Its not like he's making money off it... It is banshee related and I do believe the general discussion is "anything" banshee related isn't it? Starting to sound like PlanetSand around here anymore.. So if he wants to put the time and effort into his own site for his peeps on his side of the globe.. Rock on man!! Its not like its gonna stop people from coming to the HQ any less. I think the HQ has bigger problems to worry about then this guy trying to get a site up and going that's not going to affect the HQ in the slightest.. Quote
