justind574 Posted September 2, 2008 Report Posted September 2, 2008 Does anyone know if u need a longer clunch cable or ne thing when just switching out the stock clutch lever for a perch... i changed mine out and for some reason its fallin on its face. it runs through the gears so fast that 6th gear sounds pinned when only goin 35-40mph and it goes through the gears as soon as u shift into them. thanks Quote
locogato11283 Posted September 2, 2008 Report Posted September 2, 2008 you shouldnt need any other cable than a banshee cable. are you sure you have the clutch adjusted properly? Quote
01banch Posted September 2, 2008 Report Posted September 2, 2008 Sounds like the clutch is slipping pretty bad is there some play in the clutch lever when its is supposedly engaged or is it really tight? Quote
justind574 Posted September 3, 2008 Author Report Posted September 3, 2008 Sounds like the clutch is slipping pretty bad is there some play in the clutch lever when its is supposedly engaged or is it really tight? I adjusted the lever several times there was some play in it so i tightened it then when i took off it was really snappy when i rode it and when i went on a longer ride first gear is the only gear that felt and sounded normal. As soon as i went to second the powerband hit then sounded like it was balls to the wall same with the rest of the gears. it almost feels like the clutch might be enganged just a hair not real sure Quote
dragbanshee Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 You should have about a 1/4" of play at the end of your lever; outside tip of it. And if you replaced the stock perch I think you may have to cut or tie the wires together, cant remember what but I thought you had to do something with them. Someone will let you know here soon. justind574 Posted September 4, 2008 Author Report Posted September 4, 2008 hmm im not sure because i tried adjusting the play in the lever and thats the only thing i did before i rode it again and it just sounds like its balls to the ball and goin nowere Quote
dajogejr Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 Is it possible you're blowing the tires off so bad, by the time you click 6th they're finally catching up?? Quote
justind574 Posted September 6, 2008 Author Report Posted September 6, 2008 no because when u feel it right before it hits the powerband it sounds as if its hitting a rev limiter haha then blows through the powerband in like 2 secs then i gotta shift and it does the same thing again i did take the chain off clean it and got the slack out of it but i dont think that would make ne diffrence Quote
justind574 Posted September 8, 2008 Author Report Posted September 8, 2008 i had my good tires on the road too so i know they werent spinnin Quote
bbcmudtruck Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Does your clutch arm line up with the pointer on the cases? Follow your cable to where it meets the cases. There is a pointer on the case and on the clutch arm. See if they are lined up. Ryan Quote
dajogejr Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 The arm should NOT line up without any tension on it. You should push the arm with your finger, and feel the resistance once they are lined up. If they are lined up without tension, it will not disengage properly... Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 sounds like the lever is not letting the clutch fully in gauge or the clutch is wore out. Quote

justind574 Posted September 10, 2008 Author Report Posted September 10, 2008 hmm well ill look into it this weekend when im not so busy and see what i can come up with Quote
justind574 Posted September 18, 2008 Author Report Posted September 18, 2008 ok finally got some time to look at the arrows on the case. the clutch arm no matter how much u adjust the perch does not go behind the arrow on the case it just stays almost completly lined up with the arrow even when i adjust it so much that it has alot of play on the perch lever.
