  1. You should talk to Mr Packard http://www.packardracing.com/
  2. No problemo, i am not going to fight with you over a thumper anyway... The thing is, after reading all this crap about how stupid fast the 450s were with just a pipe, open air box,cam mod etc. i was expecting a race and a race it wasnt. My Shee is in the 80hp range just like "supposedly" those i see loosing in all the videos so... Now with that said i am sure they are great on a MX track, there is no doubt in my mind they handle better than a Banshee i am also pretty sure they are fun to ride. Blue Deuce; If you have an 80hp Banshee like you say you do then there is no realing them in on pavement...
  3. Woah!!! Relax I was just referring to the only races i have seen those 450s take part in and they didnt fare too well...Since they came out i have been reading how incredibly fast they were with just a few simple mods,i have seen videos of them beating supposedly 70-80hp Banshees, 80hp Zillas and on and on... Would the outcome had been different in a shorter race? Sure, would they have won? Nope, they were falling behind right from the start. Now remember i stated that these races were held on pavement and also stated i didnt knew how those races would have unfolded if held on dirt or sand.
  4. Got the chance to race a couple of 450s last fall, they were said to have the lil mods that make them real fast according to their owners...I knew they were piped for sure but other than that i have to go with what they said was done to their rides. Anyway there is a 600-700 ft pavement strip that runs through our local sand pit and this is where we do most of our drag racing so while we were going at it they pulled up and asked if they could participate.I raced them both twice and none of them were within 12-15 lenghts at the end of the strip both times, a friend of mine owns a ported Shee with all the regular bolt-ons and was beating them by id say 5-8 lenghts everytime. Now i have no idea how these races would have went on dirt or sand but on black top they were not very competitive to say the least.
  5. That would be an understatement!!
  6. Next time i build an engine i plan on dealing with Stan for the billet stuff.
  7. I am ashamed to admit it but around 12Ks on engines,1500$ on pipes,800$ on carbs and id say maybe 4000$ on the rest of the bike...Over 18000 US $$$ I think i need help!!!
  8. Sorry jumpman Akpopeye is supposed to take everything, if anything comes up ill let you know.
  9. Sorry Fro i dont need anything right now.
  10. I dont need these parts anymore so they have to go,everything is in great condition.I am missing 3 of the 4 small stainless steel bolts that hold the rear part of the stator cover in place outside of that these parts are in near perfect condition. 225$ + shipping for the whole set. If sold seperately it is; 40$ + shipping for the water pump cover 20$ + shipping for the clutch insert 180$ + shipping for the stator cover
  11. Try this place http://www.hardcoresledder.com/forums/index.php?act=idx
  12. I think he is 40 something not exactly sure though...
  13. Next time you want to start some shit at least try to make your story beleivable...
  14. I am no Nikasil expert so if you want to know evrything about the goods and bads of this product i suggest you contact Calvin Pollet http://www.cpindinc.com My guess would be, if only the rings are wearing down instead of both the rings and the sleeves it makes it more durable...
  15. From the experience we have with sleds around here Nikasil plated cylinders will last longer and most of the times when you trash a set of pistons, you clean the cyls slap a new set of pistons in there and you are ready to go.With that said after some time the Nikasil plated cyls will get damaged and this is where it becomes costly...All in all id say it evens it self out, iron sleeves vs nikasil plated so personnally i dont care if a top end is plated or if it uses regular sleeves. The fact that there is a shop who plates cylinders about an hour from where i live may influence my judgement, we can get our cyls plated in 7-10 days... The rings doesnt really last longer but the bores do since Nikasil is stronger or harder than the rings are, this is why it extends rebuilds unless disaster strikes of course.
  16. I heard that too Jethro, i think there was a batch of cylinders that werent plated correctly so far i havent had any problems with mines. It is true that in alot of cases with Nikasil plated cylinders when you trash a piston the only thing you have to do is to clean the cyls and throw in a new set of pistons, not always though... I love the T-REX set up and i am not putting it down but like i said earlier, in this particular case i would opt for a set of Cheetahs.
  17. I have ran both set ups so far and i guess we will just have to agree to disagree.
  18. All Trinity does with the Cheetah cylinders is selling them...
  19. T-REX vs Cheetahs in this particular case you will be better off with a Cheetah top end, the set up will be cheaper and you will end up with a little more power.
  20. The kit Rossier advertises is in fact a T-REX top end, Rossier only ports the thing before selling it.
  21. Polaris is ready to unveil their own version of direct injection snowmobile engines wich they have been using in PWC engines for a couple of years now, their 2005 line up of sleds will feature a few two strokes direct injection engines. As for two strokes sleds being on the way out i wouldnt bet on it,at least not for long time.
  22. The choke knobs also serve as idle adjustments, if you were talking about the PJs that is.
  23. It definitely is an HQ problem, it still works on every other sites i have seen.
  24. I wasnt sure if i would have the time to polish this one before spring time so Backcountry is taking care of everything, but now i think i would have been able to.
