Hi guys: You need an application server (Citrix, Terminal Services, X-Server, etc.,.) to run graphical applications remotely. Command-line programs are easier but I'm willing to bet most home users these days don't know what a shell prompt is. This will be cost prohibitive for all but the most wealthy home user (Linux might be affordable if you have the knowledge). The rest just have more money than brains because a second copy of the program is going to be cheaper. If you want to run the other computer's programs without violating license agreements and installing two copies read on. Three letters - VNC. Download it.. It's free. Install it on both computers. Make the one with the program the host and connect to it with the other. NOTE: This program is easily cracked. This will allow someone else to take control of the host computer. You get what you pay for. Disable the VNC host when not needed or dish out some cash for PC Anywhere, Timbuktu Pro, NetOp, etc.,. Good luck... Regards, Bill Saint Louis, MO

Hi Dynofox: I have a 2003 that is stock except for an "in airbox" K&N and Razor tires. I ride wooded trails a lot - when I rode. I haven't had "her" out since November because I'm chicken after an accident (long overtold story). Unless you want to rock crawl you won't have any trouble. You do need to be a good/experienced rider because there is no reverse. Let me elaborate on that because it scares many people away. I frequently challenge naysayers to a turn-around contest either in trails or open (In the open - !). I have never lost yet. In a trail I find a high spot. This is never as hard to find as it sounds. First consider how sharp a two-wheel drive sport quad turns. Then consider you can engage and disengage the clutch much more quickly than you can go in and out of reverse. Secondly, it's a very powerful bike with a light backend that will come around with just a stab of the throttle. Last resort, kill it, jump off (don't bother finding neutral) and whip the back end around. I am an average to small guy who works in an office all day. If I can whip the Banshee around - anyone can. One quick kick and you'll be going the other way. Try that with your heavy four-poke... The Razor tires amaze me every time I get in the mud. I ride at Finger Lakes near Columbia, Missouri. If you've been there you know how muddy it is. You also know the mud is sticky nasty stuff. The Razors combined with the incredible power-to-weight ratio of the Banshee make muddy trails no problem. Now this is for stock. The 'Shee is plenty fast enough for the woods the way it comes. If you buy a modified one or upgrade it you're likely to run into cooling problems - so don't do it. You aren't likely to get out of fourth gear in the woods stock so why make it faster? Edit: Forgot to talk about gas mileage. I really don't have any trouble. The biggest area I've ridden is about 2,000 acres. My truck (fuel stop) is at the far end. I usually get arm pump and or dust breath and need refreshment long before the tank does. Keep in mind two-strokes use more fuel but at 350cc you're running a relatively small displacement compared to what's out there these days (but still able to leave them behind ). Hope this helps... Let me know if you have more questions. Regards, Bill Saint Louis, MO

Hi guys: Now that we have all figured out how to improperly play the game and get 800+ let's try to see who can smack him the slowest... :-) I cannot seem to get below 60. A nice round number like that suggests it's a hard limit build into the game. I just wonder what spyware is being loaded on my computer while I'm playing this... :-) Regards, Bill

Hi guys: I'm selling my 'Shee. Yell if you know anyone looking for one. I am advertising here first because I won't sell to someone who is inexperienced or under 16. I hope all of you will respect - not hate - me for this. It's been almost a year since my near fatal accident (Ejected at ~50 into a cliff). I've tried getting back on the proverbial horse. I just don't have the courage to ride her like she needs to be ridden. I'm caving to my friends and family who don't want me to tempt fate again. Here are the details: 2003 Yamaha Banshee - Complete Package. About 33 Hours Use - Never rolled K&N Air Filter - Dealer installed/serviced. Cycle Country Cloth Hand Guards Razor rear tires - 95% Tread. Yamaha Dealer serviced always with receipts. Includes Nationwide 5x8 tilt trailer with mesh deck. All accessories (Helmet, Chest Protector, 36/M Clothes, Gas Can, Tie Downs, Flag) Serious parties may test ride. Price: I honestly don't know so best offer? Regards, Bill Saint Louis, Missouri

Hi Wassup350: Do you know what a cattle guard or "Wyoming Gate" is? They are perfect for effortlessly passing vehicles but not horses and cows (unless they are really smart, brave or crazy). The Department of Transportation uses them on interstate on/off ramps out west to keep animals on the open range out of populated areas. Regards, Bill

Hi Erbilabuc: Anything is possible. It just comes down to time/money/quality. Tell me more. Have you considered a "cattle guard"? Regards, Bill

Hi guys: Tell me more about your garage. Are you considering a permanent heat solution (i.e. with ducting) or something that is portable and "temporary" (e.g. a propane tank-top heater). I don't promise to know much about this, but I will be happy to put the time in to learn with you. Regards, Bill

Hi guys: My favorite song is Banshee by a group called Yamaha. I'm very disappinted nobody else said it before me.... Regards, Bill

Hi guys: Someone wrote to Doug Meyer asking how to add an aftermarket exhaust to a Polaris 700. Obviously this was a first time viewer. I thought Doug was going to have convulsions as he completely didn't answer the question. Instead he ranted and raved about how much noise it would make. He stretched his golf-cart riding imagination to it's limit, but couldn't fathom why anyone would want a performance exhaust. Here's a hint Doug: It's the adjective before the noun. One good thing I do like about Doug Meyer, however is that he ends every show with "God Bless". It's the little things that make him seem like a down-to-Earth traditional person who sticks to his principles. Bryan Fisher makes me laugh when he uses his "deep tough-guy voice". I think it often appears at show closing when he says "Ride on..." Regards, Bill

Hi guys: I have a 2003 Red/Black with plenty of scratches. If I used eBay I would grab these at ten times the price. I wouldn't do shipping. I would just drive down and pick them up - pay him cash. I guess I am just dumb. I always thought plastic was expensive. Maybe this doesn't include the decals??? I am definately missing something here. Otherwise I am going to have new plastic from the dealer every month (slight exaggeration)! Regards, Bill

Hi guys: Well it's almost spring and will be time to start riding more often again soon. I hope I can find the kick starter. Considering I am have been demoted to rookie status it might be tough... What happened to all our "experience codes"? Regards, Bill

Hi guys: Here is the official show schedule. Which episode are we discussing? I missed it. At the end of today's episode (Week 7) he answered my question: Q: Why aren't there more sport ATVs on the show? A: The recreational ATVs are more popular. A new sport edition of the show will feature only sport quads. P.S. Are we confusing Brian Fisher's ATV World with Doug Meyer's ATV Television? Regards, Bill

Methods So That The Shee Does Not Get Stolen
STLBILL replied to xt45's topic in General Banshee Discussion

Hi Mike: Since you're here in Saint Louis come talk to my boss for me... Regards, Bill

Hi guys: CNN has an agenda. They report only the version of the news that supports their agenda. This is typical of most media sources. Nine months ago I broke my back in four places on my 'Shee. A few people wanted me to sue Yamaha. This really pissed me off and I let each of them know it! A mechanical defect didn't cause my accident! Like most ATV Deaths I caused my accident by being stupid. I was just lucky enough to get a second chance. One picture you will never see on CNN is the mom, dad and kids spending quality time riding together. Regards, Bill

Hi guys: Here is the link to the gay hunting game. This is definately the best damn flash game I ever played. Most of my friends thought it was awesome... until they lost... http://www.siski.ru/escopeta.swf Regards, Bill

Hi guys: It looks a little fragile ("art-sy") for the hard-core rubber band fight. Now if you bought only the plans and built one out of sheet metal or rubberized plastic. Can anyone say carbon fiber? I wouldn't let my son use it unsupervised just because I remember being that age. Once you shoot targets, then comes the cat, then the dog, then the neighbors dog, then the siblings, then the neighbor's (repeat each of the aforementioned items). Sooner or later comes trouble. Keep in mind this is a Banshee owner's kid. Sterotypically speaking, I'd give it about twenty-four hours before it was modified to the "magnum" edition... Regards, Bill

Hi guys: The Official Engine Ice Web Site has some FAQs with a description only a chemist would love... but nothing about floating white things. It also has some contact information that may be useful to you. Regards, Bill

Hi guys: One additional note: Make sure you're moving. If you run wide-open in a mud bog you'll overheat and toast something for shore. Besides you'll get the guy behind you (who didn't make it as far as you) all dirty. Regards, Bill

Hi all: On the charge of first degree Banshee blasphemy I sentence him to time already served on his slow-hundred ex and Tecate. After all he did save the BansheeHQ court significant time and expense by pleading guilty. Now, if anyone did NOT purchase a Banshee after reading his article I charge him with contributing to the deliquency of an ATVer. This charge unfortunately has a stiffer penalty... So, do we support capital punishment on BansheeHQ? Regards, Bill

Hi guys: President Bush has my vote in '04. I'm just waiting for the trilogy. You know... Jeb in '08. Regards, Bill

Hi guys: I spin a lot but have no trouble going anyplace. I have heard sand tires really help but have not tried it myself. Six-to-eight inches of snow is getting to be a lot for any ATV - even the 4x4s unless you have Lightfoot tracks or similar. I grew up in Northwestern Pennsylvania and after some lake effect snowfalls we just had to put the quads away in favor of the sleds. Consider buying a sled to really enjoy this type of weather. You'll get along a whole lot better with those who ride sleds. They tend to hate it when we dig holes or otherwise mess up their nicely groomed trails. On that issue don't upset the snowmobilers. Howard Dean already wants them to break ranks with ATV riders in order to shut down riding areas. Don't run from the police. It just gives ATV riders a bad name. Our sport is already politically incorrect and hunted by the tree huggers. Let's not fuel their cause. Regards, Bill

Hi guys: What? There is another party besides Republican? Is that what all that noise was in Iowa this week? The Democrat's mascot seems appropriate - an ass. They all want to support the tree huggers and preserve the environment for eternity while removing all tradional family values from society. I'm thinking Jeb in 2008 myself... Regards, Bill

Hi Guys: Well I agree with BansheeK. Although I have yet to go there, from all I've heard there is nothing like Glammis. Let's see between Ohio and California. That's a tough one (very sarcastic ). Let's assume the following route. It is probably the best to avoid the Northern Rocky's this time of year (been there - done that - not fun). I-70 to I-44 to I-40: 1. The BadLands in Indiana aren't too far off I-70 in Western Indiana. 2. Saint Joe State Park is a 1.5 hour detour down I-55 in Saint Louis. 3. ChadWick is a 30 minute detour off I-44 at Springfield (South). 4. Deepwater is an 1 hour detour off I-44 at Springfield (North). 5. Little Sahara in Waynoka, OK. I don't know about the rest of the route. I-70 to I-15 (see snow/avalanche warning above): 1. Same as above. 2. Same as above. 3. Finger Lakes in Columbia, MO. 4. Same as above only an hour South just before Kansas City. 5. Probably can get Rock Springs, WY just past Denver (not sure of distance) 6. Moab is just off I-70 in Utah (this is a lot of riding!) That should get you started on the major areas. You're taking in such a wide area it depends on how much research you do and how much time/money you have to spend. I think you're only missing a few places in the South, Oregon dunes, Pennsylvania (The Strippin's?) and New Jersey but I'm sure there are some places I haven't heard about... Regards, Bill
