Where to get custom throttle cable?
Cotton eyed Joe replied to Whitey's topic in General Banshee Discussion
When I had mine made for the thumb to CBR600F4i throttle body, once I told Terry Cable what it was for, they told me they would not do it being it wasn't factory. Motion Pro did mine, but they offered NO warranty, or guarantee or offer of exchange or refund what so ever. I drew it in MasterCAM with the length of the cable ball to ball, the length of the sheath and the 10mm adjusters. I mismeasured mine by about 3/8" or so, but I was able to make an adapter to take up the additional cable slack. I think it was about $50-60 or so. -
I vote either chain or countershaft.

Agreed. What you or anyone else should do for future reference is just put a hold for 3-4 days, how ever long it would normally take. If it isn't there, move on to the next person. If for some reason the first person finally comes through, too late. There are such things as deadlines, and if someone is serious, they should get their ass moving.

Nyuk, you got the happy face down! I'm still working on mine for when the missionarys stop in. I haven't perfected it yet because they're still coming around. :baseball_innocent: -
Street Legal Banshee - What's it worth?
Cotton eyed Joe replied to BlackBeast's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Damn right! I wonder if I could register my project bike as a dune buggy.....I'd roll to work everyday on it. :baseball_w00t: -
I'll see if my sister will send me the pictures. It looks just like the walmart version.

I thought this was about something different. My sister just got back from California last night, and today she showed me the boot leg pictures of the WCC Banshee in his show room. I'd never seen it. Its a cool bike imho.

AYE LADDY! -
Not to take the thread off track but this reminds me of a funny story from about 8 years ago. Bunch of us at Sand Mountain, one guys wife is there. She's hot etc etc. She decides to lay out on the trailer and tan a bit. 5 of us, standing beside the trailer, with our sunglasses on supposedly looking up at the top of Sand Mountain at a sand rail....but every one of us was looking down at her under our glasses. :baseball_w00t:

I bought my 98 without ever even riding a Banshee. I bought it, and couldn't ride it until that weekend even. What sold me on buying one was the pictures of my friends out at the dunes riding. There was a picture a buddy had, where he was having more fun at that moment, than I'd had in quite some time. Now I'm almost the only one left out of a whole crew of people that still has a banshee, let alone a quad.

Eh, I've ridden 2 times in the last 3 years. That and I have stock shocks on my Banshee, so I think that disqualifies me right off as a "hard core" rider. I hope to remedy both of those problems next summer. :ermm:

a dog maybe a mans best friend...
Cotton eyed Joe replied to tithead's topic in General Banshee Discussion
HAHA I'm "the boy" too. I've been "the boy" for 31 years now. Either that or "little Stan" being my dads name is Stan also. Funny as shit being introduced to a customer as Little Stan by my dad. -
That sounds like an awesome plan you've got. Too bad I suck ass. :baseball_wibble:

The bastards taking care of my dad during his knee replacement were about that bad. Had his knee stretching thing moving too far in each direction, and even though he had so much morphine in his system he doesn't remember me being at the hospital, he kept saying "it hurts" over and over, and he'd fuckin groan. Turns out the dildos that set up the machines EVERY FUCKING DAY for their job, didn't have it set up right. It was travelling too far. Then when my dad would ring the nurses station to get some help in the room so he could go to the bathroom, they'd just ring him back and say "yeah, what do you want?" He'd tell them, and guess what the cocksuckers would do.....they'd come in, and dope him up. He'd check out, but fortunately he didn't end up pissing the bed. Fuckers at that hospital have no integrity. Me, my mom and my sister sat down at the hospital almost 20 hours per day between the 3 of us the 3 days he was there just making sure the room got cleaned, and he wasn't being neglected. If we weren't there, I know that he'd just be another pain in their ass. I felt so sick when I'd have to leave at 10 oclock at night knowing some fuckin cow was in charge of him after that. Me and my dad are lucky that we get to work TOGETHER, as opposed to what alot of people say. Alot of people think I work FOR my dad. Hardly. We make a damn good team, and sure we butt heads, and I can be an asshole right along side my dad, but at the end of the day we wrap things up, bs for a while, talk about what I fucked up that day, and how we're going to fix it tomorrow, and we go home. Which right now, I live with my parents. hehe. Both of my parents have afforded me so many opportunities I can't even count. I tell them 'thanks for your help' at least 3 times per week. Until the day I die I feel like I will owe my parents for all they've done. -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_weapon_design I find that shit interesting. There haven't been too many inventions that have had the capability to affect the entire globe. I think our generations "nuclear weapon" is Microsoft. :baseball_w00t:

On getting the wire in the frame, that might be an easy deal depending on where you're going and where you're starting.... I've done that here at the shop on a few things, and all you have to do to get started is drill a hole big enough for your wireloom, deburr it with one of those Vargas tools if you have one, put a grommet in, then drill your exit hole. Put a piece of string in the entry hole, put a shop vac to the exit hole and feed the string through. After that, tie your wire to the end of the string, pull the string on the other end, and carefully feed your loom through the frame. Just make sure you aren't scraping it on anything. I think the tubing Yamaha uses is DOM, but I'd still be careful incase there is a welded seam in the tubing. Once you have everything in place, double check your grommets, then use a bit of silicone to seal them up now that you have a place for water to get into and rust your electrical connections and frame. If your bike doesn't start one day, I'd check continuity there first.

Was that during the Cuban Missile Crisis? Or did I not get the memo and it was 5 years ago or something?

TRIBUTE TO A SAND LEGEND
Cotton eyed Joe replied to bansheeryder_69's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I hate hearing about shit like this. I didn't know him, but heard about him many times over the last 10 years. Anytime someone is killed at the dunes its just a sad thing. -
Its been over 100 everyday for the last 3-4 days. Here's a picture of how hot it was at 5:00 pm Friday in my office before I left. The camera is at a bit of an angle, but you get the point. Today after running the AC for about 2.5 hours I've got it down to about 85 degrees.

I can dig your jive bro. Life happens to everyone at one point or another. This year has been pretty shitty so far for me, my inlaws, my family, and my friends. 1 death, 2 cancer battles, a cancer scare, and a bunch of other shit. Life isn't a spectator sport, so you might as well get up off the couch, go outside and make the best of it. Its like that NES game Double Dragon. You get to one of the "big bosses" and get your ass handed to you all of a sudden in what was otherwise a perfect game. Except in this version you cant press A B B A A UP UP to get extra lives. :baseball_wibble:

I agree. Cant we all....just.... get along? :baseball_w00t:
