the chain broke? wtf? sounds like you might have some bent shift forks. so it wouldnt shift before the chain snapped right? if the bike is in neutral, regardless of whether the chain is on or not, it should still sit and idle. you sure the bike is in neutral?

i would absolutely build a 4mm motor in this situation. if you want power for the big hills, you need to go 4mm. run 35mm pwk carbs and run either cpi's or shearers.. i understand you dont want all top end. you can always keep the gearing low enough on it to lug some hills if need be, but the pipes will make up the lack of gearing on the top end.

gonna depend on riding surface. in the sand and heavy traction areas id run the 14. on the loose dirt id run the 15. also, what is your rider weight, swingarm length and type of tires?

not that it cant be done, but why when a new adjustable stator plate is so cheap, would you wanna bother with the stocker? you wont have the adjustment marks and itll just be ghetto rigged. i really recommend just buying an aftermarket one from one of the site sponsors.

ive never put the clutch fibers or steels in the clutch in any certain way. i dont even see the difference. is there a reason for it? i just slap them in there and go. ive never had an issue.
