Cause cad is just time & a machine they already have. Making a mold would be money spent on a non money spending market... i would think?

Sand casting is inexpensive (to a degree). My personal opinion (which doesn't mean shit), is if you choose to do cast, find a small casting company that will do low volume work. Otherwise, you're better of machining orders as they come in.

I could be wrong here, but I have sold castings in the past..

If the volume is there, castings would likely be more lucrative, which I doubt in the current banshee market there would be any volume. If you already have the machining centers, it would probably make more sense to stick with billet. As mentioned previously, Mattoon already does this, so you'd have to shed weight, or add features for cheaper. Or both.

Over the last year or so I've started coming across numerous social media accounts of i guess we'll call them "businesses" or "entrepreneurs" perhaps? Running Banshee raffles. Now being from the Northeast, these machines are few and far between in really clean/oem condition. Or when they do pop up, people are asking crazy money for them compared to out west. But i gotta admit a lot of these raffles are some seriously nice machines which it makes me wonder... how are these raffles affecting the current market price for a used banshee. Obviously everything has gone up in recent years with the pandemic and all that but with these people running these raffles do you think its ruining the market and turned into one big cash grab?

    What do you guys think?

Have you seen these? Entered them? Shit anybody even won one on here?

    Just curious.

    No.

Prices have gone up the same as everything has gone up.

I could get a frame for 200 3 years ago, 500 seems average now here in Canada.

the entire banshee market has gone nuts. Wish I would have kept most things I’ve sold, could have tripled my money. Can’t even find a banshee under 5 k up here, it’s ridiculous

Isn't that the truth.... Frames use to be $100, a fully built bike was $4-5k.....

WAAAAY  WAAAY WAAY WAY more trouble than it is worth. Time and materials...  Better to buy new. Honest. But try a small spot (start to finish) UNDER a fender first.

I tried sanding my plastics once, totally fucked them, ended up buying new
