T-rex 400cc Motor For Sale "new"
Southside Motorsports replied to Southside Motorsports's topic in Drag Forum
Sorry, guys the motor has been sold. I will be selling a 565 Drag/Show banshee shortly tho.. Email me if you are interested. -
I run a 565 10 mm w/ a +12 and marvin shaw shock....I don't see any one who runs those goofy struts at any tracks In MI except for asphault. I do know that your bike needs weight transfer coming out of the hole on dirt and sand and there is no way that a strut will do that. So i see no advantage to running a strut.

the only thing that i do not like about the grr pipes is the fact that they lie and say that the pipes are their's but really all they are is stealth pipes with their name on it. If you get a chance look at a set of stealth pipes then look at the grr pipes. They are identical. RDZ racing does the same thing. Matt Shearer builds their pipes but yet they say that they do.

my mistake on the website is is www.albaaction.com sorry bout that man
-
it all depends on how the motor is set up....Porting, pipes, intakes, carbs., Compression. But yea Packard knows his shit about big motors so talk to him.

I drag race only and before i ran a lockup i would always run Barnett clutch parts. i never had any problems with slipping and i was running a 90 hp 350 at the time. So i would definately go with the barnett dirt digger clutch discs and springs i have found them to be the best out of them all. I am now running a 565 10mm with a lockup and override and i still use those discs. And like the other guys said definately run a billet basket.

oh yeah and my bores are 75.5mm

Any One Tryed The Trinity 535 Cheetah
Southside Motorsports replied to bluefrog's topic in Drag Forum
I know guys that have run the 535 and have nothing good to say about it...It is known to be unreliable and not worth the outrageous price that trinity is asking for it. Every builder that i know will tell you the same thing. -
definetely drag only....They do not weakin the trans as long as the mod is performed properly....It is done by cutting a portion of the gear to a bevel instead of square. The shift drum is also modified.
-
Any one looking for some good tracks to race at check out these.. Located in MI. I race all three. Port Huron Motorcycle Club- www.phmc-usa.org (kinda redneck but fun) Albright Shores Sand Dragway-www.albrightshores.com (very nice setup) West Michigan Sand Dragway-www.sanddragway.com (professional track, national atendance) These are some prime tracks, well organized. Im always looking for new faces at the tracks.

any machine shop can machine those pretty reasonably just give them all of the dimension and what material you want them made out of.
-
Not a threat at all. Mods are vary limited for 4 strokes. The banshee can be modified to the moon.
-
Im running a 565 stock cylinder motor with a 10mm crank works crank... The sleeves are out of a 550 jet ski and bored. My transfers are still big too for those of you who think you can't keep big transfers with the big bore. It can be done.

The three highest horsepower top end drag pipes are #1 Shearer out of frames #2 GRR suicide out of frames and #3 CPI out of frames. I personally run Shearers and on the dyno they show 4 more hp over any other pipe on the market. www.shearerpipes.com www.cpiracing.com www.grandriverracing.com
-
I always deal with brad tyson of tyson racing for the alcohol mods..He does awesome work.
-
Start out with some CPI or Shearer Inframe pipes..and a good port job...and pistons....Depending on how serious you are you might want to install a welded and trued crank. The next couple of steps are bigger carbs, V-foce reeds and hotter ignition......Also clutch mods are good if you go this far...Such as billet basket, barnett discs, and shift mods. Hope this helps you.

I have a 400cc T-rex Powervalve motor for sale that i just put together....I decided to go with a big stroker so now i am selling the t-rex. Everything is new in this motor..For all the details email me. I would like to get around $1800 out of the motor.......I have $4500 invested in it so that would be a steal for someone. My email is [email protected]

I was wondering what carb size would work the best on a 565 10mm stroker motor....right now i have 35mm keihin pwk's that i can use but i wasn't sure if they are enough carb for the powerplant....???
-
I need to know some places that i can get a t-rex powervalve cylinder setup...I am in the process of building another drag banshee and need this part. Let me know asap guys
-
go to www.alba-action.com they have a sweet kit..
-
the grr's definately make more up top than the cpi's but the only thing i will run is shearer out of frames. They are the best pipe i have used yet.
-
The best tire by far on the dirt is the ohtsu pro-wedge 2's They hook just the right amount coming out of the hole and stretch out to gear up your bike with rpm...They hook like no other tire for dirt drags. I am now running a 565 10mm stroker on alky and they still get me down the track the fastest of any tire, and im running 140 hp.
-
i run the same rear sproket as i do for sand with 16 tooth front sprocket.....and i am running around 90 hp. It seems to work the best out of all the gears for that long of a drag. (not to much gear but not to little.) I am just shifting into 6th gear when i cross the finish line. By the way....when are you ice dragging at ?? I ice drag at anchor bay, MI and Albright Shores, MI and acassionally on the black river in Port Huron, MI.

what mods are done to your banshee and do you do a massive burnout with them before each run ?
