Did you have to increase your idle speed when you installed the plate? I use to run mine at 980-1000 rpm but now with timing plate installed I have to keep it @ at least 1150 but at 1200-1250 runs the best. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk

Compression is very good. What about fuel? When that side stops working did you try to pull the spark plug out to see if its wet? Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk -

I don't think stator is the issue, it's a wasted spark system, which means both spark plugs fire at the same time,so you would have a problem with both cylinders. Check the cable and the spark plug boot, also swap the plugs and see if anything changes. Check the fuel supply too, maybe your carburetor float level is low thus not getting enough fuel on time. Mate it is what it is,when you start losing your shit, just walk it off and let it sit for a while. If you force it and try to finish it off while you are "under the pump" you start making mistakes and skipping important clues. Leave it for couple of days, don't even think of it, and then jump in it fresh. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk

Are you sure the left side works good at idle too? If not check the pilot jet for blockages. Are you getting enough of fuel in the mid range? Check the needle height. Might be fuel, or electrical, check the spark too. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk -
Can bad reed valve cause lean or rich mixture?
the boris replied to the boris's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
It's definitely reed, only on the left side tho,the right is in superb condition. I had a decent engine damage on that side before the rebuild, probably damaged the reed too. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk -

Fuck mate, I don't know what to tell you. If it was working fine and you turned it off and won't start again, I would think it's something electrical, but considering you checked everything, I really don't know. I'm perplexed and bamboozled by your boke Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk -

Check the slides, I had them other way around and my bike would only start at half open throttle and would run rich as. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk -

125 psi is more than enough, it should be purring with that compression, when it drops under 110 is when it starts to play up. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk -

Can bad reed valve cause lean or rich mixture?
the boris replied to the boris's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Found this, quite interesting: Durability isn’t the only advantage to different reed materials. A stronger, stiffer material allows the reed to be thinner and lighter. The lighter reciprocating mass of a reed increases performance. If the reed is too thin, however, it can start to flutter at high rpm. This means that the reed isn’t keeping up with the frequency of pulses of the engine and is disrupting airflow. Throughout its life span, a reed petal flexes millions of times, and its individual fibers start to lose their springiness. The reed’s modulus of elasticity decreases so that in equal engine conditions the reed will deform and open farther. This is called hang-open and affects performance. It can even make the bike run a little richer off the bottom. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk -

I had a quick peak when i took my carbies off and one looks funky, I couldn't have a proper look but might take them off before I do the test. Should it be spot on closed or its ok to have a bit of a gap? Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk -

Mate thanks tor the advice, I'm in the process of making leak down tester so should have everything ready tomorrow. This was my first time rebuilding banshee so i wasn't sure what is normal and what not,and since i changed couple of things in the rebuild from original set up (somewhat downgraded) wasn't sure if i had good starting point. Btw its single filter inside the box, no lid tho. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk -
Just trying to figure out how can I have the same set up on both carburettors 30 pilots and 270 mains with one turn out on idle screw, needle 3 grove, and choke (left) side to be rich but right to be on lean side? Now I just went to 290 mains wich should improve the right cylinder but that will also make left cylinder way to rich. I spent some quality time on the carburetors, cleaning them and making sure nothing is blocked, I also changed choke o ring, which improved the "rich" situation but I'm not quite there yet. The bike is sitting at 135-140 psi, it's got new set of pistons and jugs, has v force 3 reeds, fmf pipes, cool head with 21cc domes and K&N air filter. I took it out for 5 min ride on Sunday, before i went to 290 mains, and the bike seemed to be going well but i didn't want to push it hard as I was not comfortable with main jet set up. Don't know where to look at the moment. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk

Bloody oath mate. Asking all kinds of "stupid" questions, read the ad properly before you waste my time,or do a bit of research. Google is good for you if you know how to use it. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk -

Before Facebook this forum was much more alive, even in early years of fb this was nice place to chat, but now it's almost dead, especially if you are buying or selling. I'm looking for billet intake but no replies yet. This is still very good place to find specific information you need, but if you have a problem that requires fast response go fb if you can. As title says, I'm looking for good used intake with in built crossover for standard carburetors . PM me the price with shipping cost included (shipping to Western Australia, city Perth 6030). Thanks. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk

Mine are structurally good but only problem is the sun damage, i would paint them same color as they are (black), just to get that new look again. And they aren't that old either, some 8 years lol, I'm also not sure should I just wrap them instead of painting. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk

So both spark plugs have a nice spark but the bike wont start? I had a problem with resistors inside of the spark plug boots, I had a spark on one but not on the other, and the one i had was weak. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
