  1. Yeah I found this hunk of gold last night here - http://www.dfn.com/agservices/jetfaq.html and started to digest it and I think your right on the main jets. The only concern I have is knowing what jets I have currently to know if I need to go down a size. Are they labeled or something to know the size? I plan on taking the carbs out this weekend and get parts hopefully next week.
  2. I haven’t tried to take the tank out yet. In the next couple of weeks I’ll try it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Hey All, I have the first trip out on the Banshee in the books and happy to say it felt pretty successful. I have a couple questions to help me understand maybe what I need to do next to get it running 100%. I have the tors removed so I don’t know if this is related. I noticed that if I give full throttle it sorta bogs down and can’t get going to. If I only give it ½ to ¾ throttle I can hit the power band like a crazed banshee. When I first got it, getting it to start was a little hard. I did adjust the idle to get it do just that but its not synced. Tools will be ordered this week. I also see that I’m getting a small amount of fuel/oil all the way to the muffler. When I shut it down after two twenty minutes runs the left tip was burning and smelled almost like wax but idk exactly. Not sure if this was excess gas sitting in the pipes from over time being the idle was off. I plan to pull the exhaust and get a new gasket set on order. Two other quick questions. How tight do I need to get the cap/top of the carbs that the cables connect through? Last week I took them off and had to use a channelock pliers to loosen them. When I reinstalled I only had it as tight as my hand could. I see some fuel drips on the bottom of the carb and I think is coming from there. The other carb on the right I have excess gas coming from the bottom tube. Stuck float from reading and talking with a Yamaha mechanic. I just turn the petcock to off when not riding so I don’t have a mess to clean up. Pretty sure this thing was dunked in the river from the amount of sand I had already cleaned out from the carbs and airbox. I want to get a carb rebuild kit. Anyone have a recommendation on where to find that? I’ve looked online but just not sure of a brand that’s would be better. The carbs are stock oem from what I can tell. I don’t know anything about jetting either if that’s something I will be educating myself on while its apart and find some youtubes showing how to do it. I also have only ran the gas in the tank and was planning on running 91 at a 32 ratio and a setup of NGK B8ES. I picked up a set at the Yamaha dealership and relived I should of got the BR8ES so wasn’t sure if I’m safe to run those or if that might be why I’m not getting peak power at full throttle.
  4. I thought I would share some of the sweet finds I've made so far. So after taking the carbs off and cleaning sand out I couldn't get it running. Pulled the plugs and found the tips on bother plugs were gone. One tip was stuck in the boot - smh. I got that out and started just fine after wards. Then last night I added some coolant as it was low and the reservoir was empty. I filled it to full and walked away. I came back and had all dumped out. I was wtf as I was hoping to ride it this weekend. So I gathered it had to been something from the reservoir . I followed the lines one to the radiator and one that was mounted to the front frame to dump out. I researched to be sure it just common to have it just dump out and realized the lines on the reservoir where backwards. Swapped the lines and I ride tomorrow morning. I have a little bit of tweaking to do with the idle tonight but after reading some posts and watching some youtubes I think I know what to do. It runs and snaps fine but idles like crap. I checked last night and it doesn't look like they ground the tube on the carb with the new idle screws. I'll take the lock bolt off and see if I can get it to idle better.
  5. My was leaking around the where it connects by the seat. After looking close I found missing bolts to secure the exhaust to the frame. After adding the bolts I figured out how to tighted the clamps and has since stopped the leak. Thanks for the help.
  6. I took the front plastic off but it doesn’t seem to line up. The front grill center sites about a inch in front of where you bolt it down. I tried looking around for images to compare to see if I’m missing a part or something but not find much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Its not leaking at the engine but at the clamps. Is there a gasket in there or should I buy new clamps? Like I said I haven't taken it apart so know how its all connected.
  8. Are the gaskets universal or do i need to get them from the pipe manufacturer? Its smoking at where the header meets the muffler.
  9. Being pretty new to my Banshee and not knowing any history I wanted to see what you guys thought. I have a exhaust leak on my right side at the header and muffler connection. I had it running for a few minutes and turned it off. I was able to move the part connecting the two (I don't know what its called) but wasn't sure if its bent of if I need a new gasket. Its a set of Bills Pipes and age is unknown. I am going to take them off in a day or but wanted some advise on what I might need to do to fix it.
  10. Thanks for the tip. Just trying to get quality pictures. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. There’s isn’t much for wide open spaces here but some motocross type runs in a wooded area off the Missouri River. It’s for atvs to mud trucks. I haven’t rode in a while in that area to know exactly what it’s like but I took my truck there last winter and still looks fun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Hey everyone, just wanted to through a post up about my new toy and get some questions possibly answered. This isn't my first ATV/ATC but first one in a long time and first Banshee. I little background on my I have grown up in Bismarck, ND. I have been wrenching on something for 18 years but never had a project toy like this. My past toys were a 75 Ward green 5hb three wheeler (pics only by request lol), a 87 Tri Z, and a 01 I think Honda 350ex. I picked this 94 Banshee up last week at a pawn shop with zero background on it other than it ran and drove without smoking I think I got a pretty great deal on it thats why I snagged it up. Since I don't have a clue about some of the stuff I had a long time friend thats been tinkering with 2 strokes for ever stop by. We can see it has some nice mods (vforce reeds, coil over suspension, and Bills pipes) but I don't know much other than that. I was hoping for some help identifying the rear sway arm and air box. Front shot - https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ahh7A5gh6kYDrjrmpTWctRMDGf6D Swaybar - https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ahh7A5gh6kYDrjrmpTWctRMDGf6D Airbox - https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ahh7A5gh6kYDrjrmpTWctRMDGf6D I took the airbox out to clean the sand from that and the carbs and had a hell of a time getting it back in correctly. It sits really close to the carbs to be able to fit the coolant reservoir. I think it i cut about a 1/4 inch off the mounting plate it would fit better. The pipes also rub pretty are on the airbox. Is that going to be fine? I know I will need a new sprocket set by next year but the rear end looks good. Just can't tell the brand to so some research. It's been a long time since I've been in a forum so hope I figure out your lingo quickly
