Well guys.... I’ve decided I’m going to go with smaller domes to tighten up the squish clearance. I’m definitely appreciative of everyone’s input even though I’m going against some of your guys’ recommendations. There’s more in this motor and I want to wake it up a bit more. I will have the shop run another dyno session and this time I’ll make sure they run a tq/rpms graph, per your guys’ request. I’ll post here or the dyno room the results if it helps you guys gauge improvements or if someone in the future has the same questions. Yea. That damn flywheel was $250. Thinking I would get a really good grade of flywheel. I wouldn’t pay 40 for this thing. Obviously I’m sending it back. I guess I’ll give it a few more hours and if no one has one I’ll have to order new.

Got to stay in the suite. It’s the old dyno shop by the old green taco stand. If you could get 10 people together, it would be worth it. It’s huge. Problem is, it’s 250/night. Hence the ten people.

Need flywheel. Needs to be known to be good. Round, minimum corrosion, taper not messed up. No rattle. Not lightened. OEM a must. Figured I’d look here before I bite the bullet on a brand new one. I’d rather trust someone on here before I trust ebay. Already tried an eBay one. Rattled and definitely not as pictured. Let me know if you have one. Pictures would help. Thanks!

My last session here in town said those numbers looked good too. Gotta understand.... i see all these big numbers on the same motor and the first thing I think is... is something wrong? Like I said I’m happy with it..however I wouldn’t mind to see a little more torque. I would assume by upping compression, I run the risk of blowing head gaskets easier? Oh... and spending about 3x on fuel. Quite honestly, I can’t say I’m trying to compete with the next guys dyno numbers, I’m just trying to make this motor run the best it can. There is nowhere to ride around here so I get away twice a year to Oklahoma. Spending the extra dough on race gas is no issue to me. Definitely the type of answer I was looking for as far as what to expect if I make this change.

I guess I could pull the intake boots at some point and take some pictures. I’d assume you guys know what you are looking at. It’ll be awhile to get to. Iv got a new baby so it’s hard to spend any length of time in the garage without getting squawked at. Between the new LT setup and rear end, Iv been using the “be up in a minute” line a little too much lately.

Yea.... Iv definitely wondered if that were the case. I do recall looking at the porting and not seeing anything aggressive. I’m not an expert so I assume it’s correct. Basically I trust that you pay “x” you get “x” I mean the numbers do line up with a “clean” port though.

I was told it could use a richer needle. I’m running an EEL 5th clip PWK 35s. I just don’t think jumping to the next richer needle would spike my numbers that much. Basically, that’s why I’m considering a dome change. With my squish clearances being a little on the high side, I just see some room to tighten it up a bit. But if you guys think it will affect my dunability, then it’s not really worth it.

Yes... it’s play ported on Shearer inframe pipes. Believe me, I paid about $700 in 3 separate dyno sessions at 3 separate places and that’s all I could get out of it. I mean we went thru everything trying to increase power. I could have messed with timing a little more, but I left it at +4 for all the sessions. I wish I could say it was throwing down 90 but it just isn’t. Jetting wasn’t changed from the first session to the third, as the A/F read perfect on all 3 dynos.

Iv got a 4 mil Serval on pump gas. 137lbs of compression (1100 above sea level)... motor is very fresh 24cc domes. Play ported. Puts down around 76 hp consistently on a dyno. Best legit pull was 79hp (had an 83 hp pull... cold tire slip was clear). My primary type of riding is LSOK duning. My question is... if I lower the squish and get into 110 octane game, will I lose any driveability while duning. My current squish is .055 and .057 which seems like there is plenty of room to close it up a bit. I understand that I can squeeze more hp out of the motor, but will torque equally increase? I definitely like the way it runs now, but I really can’t say no to more power if it’s available. I’m guessing 18-19cc custom cut domes will get me around 165lbs of compression. Just need some thoughts on what to expect if I make this change. Also... I’d assume jetting would remain the same, but would like confirmation. Thanks guys!

You are starting in 6th gear. Problem solved. . Just messin.... I’m sure it’s just a jetting issue.

I’ll keep you posted. They are actually letting us stay in the “house” for the weekend to make it up to us. I’ll putts up the hill and check out how they look this weekend. I mean besides burning them down, I’m not sure how much damage could have been done. There’s really not much to those things.
