OP, HP2000 has the new design as stated. Just got mine Tuesday, which was a day earlier than Larry told me. After looking them over like a kid on Christmas morning, they look really well built, especially after I wiped off the drool! Larry told me to use a 19 1/4" eye to eye shock with these a-arms. Tony

ATV Galaxy don't like me.

I've been following this topic and I can see both points of view on the subject. I think specialblend got pretty damn close to hitting the nail on the head when it comes to the sport quad market becoming more and more extinct. I've personally run into this while ordering parts for my KFX 450. The 4 stroke quad scene was the rage for a few years and then UTV's came along and it has died out and the aftermarket is drying up rather quickly for the 4 stroke quads, unless it's the Yamaha or Honda variety. Try ordering a Carrillo rod for a KFX450, you'll hear a lot of crickets on the other end of the phone. Go back 5 years and they were in stock at most places selling parts for those types of quads. On the other side of the fence, the following for let's just say a Yamaha Banshee for the sake of argument, it's damn near a cult following and if you're in the industry making parts of this nature how could you not know what a Banshee is and at the very least someone in a tech department be somewhat familiar with one. I can fully understand most folks not knowing specifics on how to properly set up a shock for your specific application. There are just way to many variables involved for someone to know all the details. A good tech or service rep/shop though should be able to get you in the ballpark with some pretty good seats as well. Just my thoughts on the subject. Tony -

I totally agree with you about UPS, not only do their shipping prices suck but around here they really don't seem to give a shit about the package either. I've had so many packages show up completely trashed and they don't want to do a thing about it. They will blame the shipper but when I show them pics sent by the shipper of the package prior to being shipped they just start making excuses. As for these brokerage fees you speak of, nothing was mentioned to me about that when I shipped Claude's swing arm so I really don't know what you are talking about there. I hope this doesn't slow things up for Claude getting the swing arm!!!! I explained to the gal at Fedex this was my first international shipment so if there was anything I needed to do on my end to ensure a timely delivery to let me know. She said nope, you're all good. The gal did make me open the package so she could inspect the item. Thought that was odd in a way but I can also understand it as well. -

Claude, they updated the shipping info and now Fedex says you should be seeing it this coming Monday. Let me know when it arrives and everything is intact. Thanks again Claude! Tony -

I appreciate the reply about your Chariot thumb throttle. I did the same thing with tightening it up a little. Mine had a good 1/16 inch gap up and down, I tightened that up a little and it helped some. I agree as well, the extended arm they send along is nice! My Fireball -1 swing arm should be here Tues, next is to order their +2 +1 a arms and get the chassis done. Every time I look at my shee I hear what sounds like a HUGE shop vac running, then it hits me, it's that thing sucking money outta my wallet lol. Such is the life, gotta pay to play right! Again, thanks for such a quick reply! Keep up the great work and keep us posted on how things are coming. Tony

Great looking build thus far and love the colors, keep those pics coming!!! Getting ready to start my complete rebuild as well. I noticed you have the Chariot thumb throttle assembly, is your thumb lever loose as hell in the housing, side to side that is? Mine just wobbles and rattles around. Hell, my worn out OE thumb throttle had less slop in it with worn out bushings lol. Keep up the great work on your build! Tony

Hello again Canada. Yes, I ended up with a Banshee. After looking at the parts availability or lack there of for the Honda things got a lot easier in the decision, helps I got a good deal on the Banshee as well! Glad to see a familiar face on here as well.

rjdgriff, I'm finding out really quick from other threads and posts things are pretty loose on this forum LMAO!!! I'll give a person their fair shot to prove themselves a cool person or a douche bag. I always welcome constructive feedback, criticism, and input from folks and treat people with the same respect that I'm treated with. I appreciate the reply to the post though, the loose nature on this forum cracks me up!!! Thanks, Tony

Well shit, my bad I guess. I'm in my 40's man, I don't do that maxing out shit anymore, I might break my hip or something lol!
-
gusto, Thanks for the welcome back to 2 stroke heaven! :-) DDQ, LMAO!!! I had to read that a couple of times to make sure my eyes weren't fucked up! To answer your question, never maxed on squat, work out with 6 cookies per side though, bench I was at 375, haven't maxed out in ages though, I've only done clean and jerks, never maxed out there. I hope those numbers are sufficient for memebership to the club lol.

Hello everyone, I wanted to take a minute and introduce myself. New owner of a 03' Banshee. A little about the quad......motor has an ebay 370 big bore kit with a couple hrs on it, that's what the seller told me, a Hot Rods stock stroke crank kit, and a Trinity 2 into 1 carb set-up. He had the motor done by a bike shop. The motor does sound nice and tight, not really concerned with it though since it will get a new motor. Initial thought is a 421 engine with twin carb in the future. The quad is pretty stock otherwise and in decent shape. It is exactly what I was looking for since this is gonna be a complete tear down and resto. project for me. About me.......been a little over 20 yrs since I've been on a 2 stroke quad.........DAMN did I miss that smell!!!! Been riding a KFX 450r for about a yr now and completely turned that into a full on mx quad from the bone stock state I bought it in. I love the KFX but the itch to finally own a 2 stroke couldn't be squashed, I HAD to own one!!! Needless to say, with my long absence from anything 2 stroke, my learning curve is gonna be steep. Been doing a lot of reading on the forum here already and trying to get the bare bones of some things down before I really proceed with anything on the Banshee. I'm in the middle of building the motor for my KFX right now, so the Banshee is a back burner project. Probably a good thing as this will give me time to get more familiar with the workings of the Banshee. This site and forum is hands down the biggest wealth of information that I've found!!! There are sooo many good reads thread wise about tuning and motor work it's damn near to much to take in at one time lol. Anyway, that's the scoop for now on things. As I begin the process of redoing the shee I will be posting things up and asking questions along the way. I look forward to adding to a discussion when I gain the knowledge and can contribute in a decent manner. Tony
