  1. Ok sounds good I'll look into them I don't mind paying a little more for better quality this is a mistake I don't ever want to make again!!
  2. Ok will do thanks alot. I got brand new gaskets with my new intake recently but maybe they're cheaper gaskets. I'll have to pick up some better quality
  3. You were right man it is leaking past the gasket and out the threads of the bolt hole... the surface for the gasket to seal on there is extremely thin so should I use any extra sealant on the gasket itself too? They are brand new gaskets
  4. Yeah I was told it's from the factory drilling out the holes for the intake bolts... I'll check out the inside when I pull it apart to do pistons. So Yama bond is fuel resistant? I had some high temp red rtv but I see that's not supposed to be used in contact with gas
  5. https://youtu.be/SWaMKYWWLr0 Here's a video I took of the leak so you can see the bubbles coming out of that hole
  6. So I made my leakdown tester today so that i can get this thing tore apart and see how much damage im dealing with but anyways it turned out awesome thanks to the sticky how to on this website but the results have me needing more advice! I pumped it up to 6psi and it seemed to be holding but ever so slowly starts dropping and seemed to be dropping faster than it should. I would say 5 minutes and it's down to zero. I sprayed everything down and only leak I could find is on the right side intake part of cylinder where those stupid little holes are on a cub cyl from I guess the factory drilling and tapping the bolt holes for your intake manifold... I was told these holes were normal for a cub but the top right one is leaking. None of the other little holes are. It will slowly bubble out of there and my right cylinder is the one I had most problems with and couldn't get to run right and also was the one backfiring. So I'm guessing this was enough of a leak to make it run lean? But what I don't get is how that started to leak if that hole isn't supposed to go all the way thru into the intake tract. How should I repair it? Will it need to be welded or is there other options like filling it in with some sort of sealer that holds up to gasoline? I'll have the cylinder off so if it needs to be welded then so be it I weld aluminum at work all the time just not cast so that's why I want to know my options. Thanks again
  7. Damn I had to be atleast that I don't get it. I'll have to call the company I bought the intake from and see if it's different. I'd like to get rid of the internal crossover plate if I can less chance of leaks
  8. Yeah I will have it apart tomorrow I'm not sure if there's chunks of rings in the bottom end or not but we'll see. I need to find a torque spec on the intake manifold bolts... that was my problem installed a new intake and reed cages and had a leak in the gasket between the reed cage and cylinder. FML!!!!
  9. Wait a minute yeah how many, rings should there be?? It looks in the pic like there's only a bottom ring wtf
  10. When I peaked in the exhaust port I seen that gouge but I don't think there's a piece of the ring missing I think it's just the gouge going thru ring that makes it look like that... I'm not sure I gotta get it apart and see what's up. I just wish I had that damn leak tester built already!
  11. I have no idea I wondered the same thing that's how it was when I bought the quad. The guy was a goof
  12. Yeah that's what I was thinking something had to have come loose and did that I'm hoping there's not chunks down in the crank. So will I have to pull the lower end apart too?
  13. Not really sure to be honest just thought I'd throw it out there and see what someone's got to offer... I'm lookin for some asv levers, handlebars, any polished stuff, billet Kickstart or shifter, front bumper, that kind of crap
  14. Got some boyesen power reeds that came off bike when I bought it. Look to be in good shape. Come with boots for stock carbs. Let me know what u got to trade or offer
  15. Plus they are local I'm near milwaukee I wanted to find someone close
  16. I've heard of that millenium place that's who I was thinking of taking it to.. good to hear feedback on them thanks alot
  17. Sorry guys another newbie question for ya. bought a nice compression tester and found out my comp is way low. It was still running just didnt seem right and now i know why. I've got 90 psi in right cyl and 122 in left. Found a nasty gouge in right side piston and I'm getting ready to tear it down but wanted to do a leak down test first so I'll be building one of those kits this weekend. My question is that with this vitos 392 cub can they be rebored if the walls are trashed? I've been reading that the Cubs are plated and you can't bore them you have to replate?? I'll know more this weekend when I yank it apart but just trying to get an idea of what my options will be. Here's a pic of the right side exhaust port side. Thanks alot. I tried searching for info on this but haven't had much luck.
