  1. what time? im going there tomorrow to pick up some parts for my buddy
  2. id say no its not worth it. you can buy one already running for 2500 or less. your going to spend around 1200 on a good running motor shipped if your lucky and probably another 400 for pipes if you get something decent. all the other stuff will add up to atleast 2500 in my opinion. not trying to be a downer, ground up builds are expensive.
  3. you didnt get a bad deal unless that thing has zero compression. throw the dome o rings back on and compression test that thing then check the squish on it as well. sounds like the dude "thought" it was a 421 cub because it was a 420 bore, ive seen tons of people online say i have a 421 cub blah blah blah when they have a 421 driveline motor or an athena etc. anything that is 420 cc basically. maybe he was lying who knows, too late for that, anyways i can tell you this at least the motor doesnt have trinity PLUG LOCKS on it. Also that jetting might not be too far off. what "kit" did you order? and what needle is in it. I have a set of CEL needles id give you if you need some
  4. no idea. just use toomey. 25 pilot should be fine with pipes and open air box
  5. honestly if you have a stock pilot 25, that would likely work too. if you ride cold temps just gotta adjust the air fuel screw come fall and prolly go up a size if you ride winter.
  6. 30 pilot is too big, 27.5 max. air fuel screw 1 turn out, toomey needles are far superior to jetting a modded bike with stock carbs. id get some of those they like 40 bucks i think. also your main is probably too big im sure but clearly thats not your issue at the moment
  7. I say you got a good deal as long as the motor has compression. steering stem, rad, handle bars, carbs, levers, are all good. Seller said it was a 421? clearly its a stock cylinder, but Didnt trinity have the sleeved 420 cylinder setup? anyone? a lot of people now days jsut assume that if its a 421 bore its a cub.
  8. what I dont get, is how people do rides like this or glamis with quads that drink fuel. By the time you ride all the way out to the spot that you want to ride at, youd have like 20 minutes of ride time maybe before you have to turn around and fuel up again. Am i right??
  9. little in and out play is normal, up and down not so much
  10. what kinda of noise, its so loud i cant hear anything so its hard to say
  11. hmmm. i need a new one of these dang it.. mine does this. been running it like this for a while though and no issues so far
  12. Try a 30 pilot with the air fuel screw at 1 turn out. Also you might need more main jet unless your riding in really really hot temps right now, But I would go to a 310 to start and see if its too much
  13. how much did you buy it for? you sound like me 3 years ago as far as your compulsion and banshee parts. those air filters lol
  14. OHM stator charging coil and pick up coil, not sure specs off hand but you can find them easily OHM coil leads and secondary leads, OHM spark plug boots those are 5K i believe check harness for anything unusual, makes sure your clips from your harness are tight on the primary leads on your coil with all that said my guess is bad stator or coil. oem all day if you replace anything
  15. good to know, was it an oem stator on there to begin with?
  16. this is the guys quad who advised you to grab a chair and WOULD YA JUST LOOK AT THAT and see what happens.
  17. well then it sounds rich. lean the needle out a clip at a time. go in the middle, if it improves but not 100 percent, lean it one more and you should be good.
  18. how does it transition into the power band? does it struggle to makes power and real sputtery?
  19. what needle? and how does it run at wide open throttle?
  20. Yes I have a big tire i flip in my backyard. i usually do timed sets
