  1. a 4 mil is a good upgrade your bore size is a little different, running 175 psi is not usually a good idea.
  2. 24cc domes with 110 gas? ahh thats a big no for starters, with 24cc's you can run 89 octane
  3. I found out that the 2T2 rod has a 20mm OD upper rod end where a Banshee will be 21 so a Banshee wrist pin bearing will not go in the rod you must use Yamaha RD400 bearings!! not a good scenario to be in.
  4. yes they are 115, they are a 2T2 rod (RD400) and have I think a smaller slotted big end, they are the same as a banshee long rod dimension wise its the oiling thats different, running that rod in a hi revving Banshee may not be a good idea, I am gonna research the main difference but believe thats it
  5. @wayne-smith we are talking about the big nut under that.
  6. thats a Wossner piston, the problem you may have is when someone does a run of pistons for themselves they may get assigned a number that is only for them, what is it out of
  7. if the plates are left in you can put minimal pressure on the last one and the hub wont turn, take them out and it spins like crazy
  8. do not take the clutch plates out until after you impact the nut off, as uman said bend the lock washer.
  9. for me the problem with a 10 mil is the above the pin material, theres not enough there, the forgings of all these Banshee cranks can only take so much press then they crack, remember I said stock forged webs, if theres not enough press the crank spreads or runs out of phase, in my opinion the web needs to be 8-10mm bigger in dia. and the case trenched across the whole web area which would not be to hard to do, some may remember back in the 70's Yamaha use to put rings around the YZ250's outer webs but they were aluminum, now to take a hardened steel ring that has a .003 interference fit and is 4-5mm thick and put that around a 10mil crank is the only way I would consider using forged webs, just my .02
  10. you could have a bad "new" tire, they are small to balance but its possible, try putting the carrier on a crate and get the thing spinning in 4th gear and have someone watch to see if something is bent or a tire is actiing oblonged when rotating, depending where they are made they could have missed the quality control dept. (overseas)
  11. personnaly its the only 4 mil I use
  12. Radar Racing, not many can argue with you as your making alot of sense, all 19cc domes are not alike as you said, once the exhaust port is raised now things are very different, I have 15 19cc domes from 4mm wide squish to 12mm they all require different set ups but I see time and time again people say I'm going racing and run race gas and are actually slowing down their vehicle.
  13. I was just refering to rod lengths and the odd 2T2 rod, that paticular rod has (I believe) a different oiling slot for the bottom bearing and was not intended to run as high of RPM or as hard as a Banshee is run so if thats the rod he's using it is 115mm long but may not be the best choice for a banshee.
  14. on the micro squirt there is alot of info on the RZ350 forum using R1 injectors, pretty simple sounding and real responsive
  15. a 4 mil crank will do you alot of good just make sure you run it up in the head, careful on porting and run a dome based on your altitude and gas supply, for the riding your doing forget HP worry about torque and thats what you'll get with a 4 mil and stroker domes
  16. Im thinking his new pads are a touch thicker than originals, these new Chinese pads are probably the problem, when the piston is all the way in there is no where for the thick pads to go so they rub the disc, file them down a lil until your wheel is free
  17. 29L is a stock stroke and a 110 rod, 29M is a 115 rod, but a 2T2 rod is from a 1977 to 1979 RD 400 road bike and is 115 mm long
  18. this is my first post, squish is not as simple as .040 or .055 it depends on width of the squish band, I have seen bands from 6mm wide to 14, if you run a tighter squish you better run a narrow band, to big of squish will cause you to think you have a jetting issue, the person I trust most is Lane at Driveline performance he cuts stroker domes in any depth or width, if your having problems with getting a special dome made call him and he'll make you anything.
