  1. Bike is still not dialled in yet, but I have 16/41Traction sucks! Cause I have a set of 22" sand stars!! I'm finishing 400' in the low end of 4th if shift to fith at 400' it will bog, that's how low I am in 4th as in probably just shifted at 350' I'm still doing alot at once here with this and being so new at it, it's hard for me to know for sure but I'm guessing I'm hitting 4th at about 350' The front end almost lifts when shifting from 1 lst to 2nd if I had better tracktion I'm betting it would lift up a wee bit.
  2. The override was in the bike. I was told it was 1 threw 5 override. N is in the stock location. I know I have been starting in first and shifting to second wide open. I don't know who cut the override. I do know I'm going to get another one tho to have on deck
  3. It's 1-5 override n stock location. Thanks for the info on the not riding a bog out! Dam I didn't know that So by short shift window, you are saying I would Finnish 400' in 5th? Also, are you saying I should start with a 15/45 and try that? I ordered a 15, and 16 and a 45, 44, 43
  4. Also guys where I am it is not hard core drag racing. I wish it was. Lets call it hobbie racing. But that don't mean I don't want to be fast. And definitely doesn't mean I don't want to win at some point. Got a race In 2 weeks.
  5. Really? So much to learn!! I bought stock ratio straight cuts. That's one of the things I know for sure, cause I bought them myself new.
  6. Ok this is why I ask, cause reality is, I don't know, and don't want to buy 10 different sprockets. Guys who have been there and done it already know best!
  7. I was leaning towards a 17/41
  8. If guys that weight 200+ lbs. running drag ported 421's can run 72 ro tires I think my 140lbs. Self on a drag ported 535 should be ok? You don't?
  9. I'm asking cause I need advice on a good starting point for me. 535 cheetah drag ported Race is 400' +12 swingarm Tires are going to be 81 ro 14 paddle extreams I only weight 140lbs. Ready to race Dirt race
  10. Oh swing arm length would be also helpfull
  11. Not sure if this has been done yet but I couldn't find it. Wondering if guys could give this info, for reference. Sprocket size front & rear Rear tire size Motor size Length of track set up for Also if you race dirt or pavement Thanks
  12. Cam, do you run your dyna boxes with factory dyna settings? Or when you use a dyna box do you tune it? I'm just wondering cause some of them above pretty much said, no good unless you tune it. What about you 10milmike? Same thing, factory dyna settings? Also cam ya I usually always use eix plugs, with risistor. Last plugs pictured are not cause they can get quite expensive when all you want out if the if us a one pass read! I'm wondering does it make much of a difference if I tune it in with the reg plugs, but run an eix once tuned? Also do you guys run 8's or 9's in your methanol motors?
  13. Yes I am new to methanol, and this actually is my first big motor!! Lol. You would be surprised, my last motor was a stock stroke, stock bore, ported by "rockets" in Quebec Canada. A guy named Dan? Motor was ported when I got it. So from that to this k&t drag ported 535 cheetah on meth!! Love it!! No wonder it felt so powerfull the first time I felt it hit the pipe eh guys? Probably close to 3 times the hp as my last motor and it's not even tuned fully yet. On a serious note I appreciate everyone's opinion, I always take it into account when making my own decision. But I do still end up making up my own mind, and do what I believe is best. Also I'm not no big time racer, shit so far I have only found 3 races in the hole riding season!!! And I missed the first one cause I didn't put my bike together in time. 2nd one is this month 25,26,27. That will be my first race. So it is vital I get this thing tuned before then and running fast.
  14. See that's one if the biggest problem I have with this motor, I bought it from a Bhq member. So I'm going only on his word that it is said to be ported by k&t, domes cut by Titan, they were new, along with the head, a gas head also came with it. An old style cheetah head, domes are not interchangeable in the old head. The head on now is new style with domes and was brand new. I tore the motor down split the cases inspected everything. Put it back together. Motor was bought, no electronics, no carbs, just intakes, with reeds. This winter I will send cyl. To k&t and have them see if it is In fact ported by them, and do anything that can be done if in fact it was not. The cyl. We're also freshly powder coated so no markings could be seen from who ever ported it, if it was even marked. Just a little history on it.
  15. I'm open to trying anything that I feel won't mess shit up. So I will try 7 on the plate and stock cdi. And see if seat of the pants it feels better. But I will say the better part of me hopes it doesn't. I jus bought this dynatek cdi! After lots of reading on it(before buying) The curve(even stock setting) is much better then stock cdi, I'm not understanding why get rid of it? Why not leave at stock setting, and add a degree at a time on the plate as needed? I'm going to try both no matter what anyway, I don't have a dyno to go to, so I have to go by what feels best when I'm on it. If stock cdi feels best then I could always sell the dynatek, Anyone ever try these on a dyno, with dynatek settings for real comparison? Or have you guys and this is why you are recommending this?
  16. Great feedback! Thanks guys! Timing is set at +4 on the adjustable plate, and stock setting on the dynatek cdi. I'm really just trying to dial in the air/fuel, before I play with the timing. But guys with similar motor as mine (535 cheetah) say they really don't like lots of timing. I admit I have tried a pass with plate at +4 and dynatek on 3 and it felt like less power. Bike did not pull as it does set on stock. Once my air/fuel is happy, I will try more and less timing. Won't get the bike back out till the weekend. Oh about adding more oil, I like lots of oil also, and will probably add more oils once its dialled in, and see how it goes, also I want to change to klotz supertechnoplate, but still waiting for my guy to get it in.
  17. This is good knowledge ^^^ One day by going through all this shit, I will be able to give advice and help myself and others like this ^Thank you.
  18. those really are some more then fair prices!! 4mil cheetah for 2100$ dam!!Id love to have that for my trail bike I want to build next!
  19. I'm not sure, but my wallet was starting to feel the breix These are just a reg. br9s First plugs were a br8eix Ya I guess I should of mentioned that to, my bad. I'm not sure if that could if helped any. Didn't have much time tonight,
  20. Ok new plugs 1 pass @ 400' pulled tether rolled to a stop. Looks like left cyl. Is leaner then the right. Changes I made from plugs above, Mixed fuel @ 32:1 Didn't touch the needle power jet 2 turns in from wide open. Checking needles now to see if they are same length. If they are I will open left power jet more then the right.
  21. Not to mention who knows who is commenting and if they even read the thread from the start? I know when camatv comments, I believe and read what he says. But I looked at many if his old post and trust he knows what he says. Many of you may also, but many of you might also be as clueless as I or worse. I'm a guy who can tear this motor to all it's pieces and put it back together, and it still run. Just so everyone knows I'm not a virgin here, just new to alcohol. If this was a dam gas motor I would of had it running the day I put it together!!
  22. In no way am I trying claim I know what's goin here but when you guys saying that if thier plugs looked like that the motor would be toast. It makes a guy wonder? I have quite a bit of time on this motor. Run time. Like common after 10grand spent on this bike, that's the last thing I want. I'm home from work and at it again with this thing.
  23. U guys might be surprised to know that the power jets were both backed all the way out and then only turned 1.5 turns in. My fuel mix was at 20:1. I'm not sure if most of you are seeing the picture well. I don't believe it's BURN you are seeing. I did one more pass after this picture, before that pass I turned my power jets IN (leaner) one full turn each? Bike performed better, also started to clean up the plug, it got spotty, as in some dark spot like pictured, with some lighter spots kinda like it was drying up, if you could imagine that pictured, I should of just took a pic, but didn't. I will mix at 36:1 and do a pass I bet that even cleans it up, I'm sure most of you going o. About it being lean and so surprised it hasn't blown are thing no way, but then why has no blown up yet? Why is there no piston residue, I'm not talking I k&t 2 passes, 2 passes in that pic!! Did probably ten through out the day!fucking with it every pass, but with basically the same looking plug. Cause it must be ritch. Anyway I will post back the results so others who might need one day have it. No matter what the results are I will post them. Even a blown motor.
  24. Really?? Then wtf? Nothing of what you ask. Plugs look just like that. Went and bought them brand new, put them in and ran it, back to back, took them out and took a picture. Motor is boggy down low a bit, but pulls pretty hard, but it was running better then it it now.
