hmm i like the idea of springs instead of the cushions. I just read up on another forum about them as well and im pretty much sold on that basket now lol. Can you use different gear ratios on that basket?
I'm thinking I might be right around 80-85HP but I have the whole motor apart right now so you got me thinking about getting the trans cut. I probably will because I dont want to fight it shifting and Im not going to want to pull the motor back out to redo the trans lol. My next question, what does the hinson spring tension basket exactly do compared to a regular hinson basket and can you use different primary gears on the spring tension basket?
I live in the states and unfortunately I can get ahold of any 2007 banshee stickers. I want the factory decals that came on the red quad or red plastics with the decals in good shape.
I meant balanced like on a car crank. They need the pistons to balance them so i wasn't sure if they did this for a small motors as well. I never saw a crank balanced before so I dont really know how it is done. I joined this site to learn how you guys build your race motors and to help me on my build.
I just got my new hotrods 4mm stroker crank today with a tz bearing and was wondering if the tz bearing just slides off and do i use a oem key on that crank?
thanks for the replies! I'll just do a little trim work on the fenders. just wondering what do you guys think about the trinity pipes compared to cpi or shearer
I bought a banshee off my friend that was in pieces because he bought an athena big bore kit and through it on not realizing the connecting rod bearing was bad. So now I have it lol since the crank is bad and the banshee is in pieces im redoing the whole thing and building a 421 with it using the athena cylinders
Will Toomey T5's clear they fenders? I have fatty pipes now that came with the quad but i heard t5s are better than the fattys for mid to top end. im thinking t5s might be a little better than shearers for me to because im doing some woods riding.
I'm trying to decide on what pipes to go with. I am building a 421 with a clean up port job and I'm putting new plastics on, so i dont want pipes that wont fit with my front fenders. I was thinking about shearer pipes but they look to big for the fenders and i dont want them melting. suggestions definitely appreciated
thanks for the reply and yes its going to be ported. im looking for mid to top but i want to make sure they will fit past my carbs. Im thinking maybe for toomey t5's if they fit? When I bought the bike it came with the fatty pipes but it was bassically a stock motor
I'm building a 421 and would like to run dual PWK 35's but I'm wouldering if my pipes will fit with them. I have fmf fattys. Second do i have to get a lock up clutch you around 80hp? I really dont want to but i also dont want it to slip
